What happened to Gryphon Forum?

2 of the most important solid state electronics manufacturers in high end audio. Sad.

Those forums still exist, but have been moved as sub forums under Other Audio and Video Manufacturers.

Zellaton has a subforum .You can find that in the search engine as well :)

Zellaton is listed as a forum under manufacturers. Gryphon was but no longer is. It should be intuitive but my question is “what happened” not “how do I search WBF”. My inclusion of Zellaton was to hopefully engender some better understanding. You don’t find Zellaton in some search function. You just click the displayed forum title. You may not have an answer to my question but I hope that you now understand my question

Thanks Tom.

But using the WBF search engine on "dialectical" , a keyword in the tittle of a thread, we get a link to

https://www.whatsbestforum.com/threads/gary-l-kohs-forum.2840/

These modifications are making the forum unsearchable using most search engines, reducing significantly its interest to readers and the general audiophile community.

Fortunately hard core audiophiles can rely on the dark net to find old information ...

I do finally understand your question and. thank you for taking the time to explain . We have had many members comment that the list of our manufacturers subforum was getting to be the size of a freight train and many members suggested we consider dividing the Manufacturers forum to hasten visual searches. After much thought we decided to take the members' advice and divided out the forums as to number of views and posts and frequency of use.

as to our search function I must admit that there are times such as what you describe that leaves me apoplectic. Several years ago we invested a good sum of money and purchased "Elastisearch which drills down to 3 symbols thinking this would not only hasten a search but make things much more revealing. Like you I have found that when I often do a search for something I know exists only to have a response that says "no results found"

You can use filters for your search from search everything to search by author, date and pertinent words. Do you use the regular search or the advanced functions/ I use advanced and as stated all too many times I get the message "no results found"

I have several members who use ChatGPT to search WBF. I have never tried this myself

I appreciate you taking the time to explain

Gotta love the issues of a forum that has grown well beyond what was originally thought. Growing pains are a PIA sometimes...

Since the WBF early days I have used the google "advanced search" feature to find information in WBF - just write the address of the site in the appropriate window.
