It's been a really great year for new music. Hoping folks will chime in with some of their favorites. The following have been in heavy rotation at our house:

Geri Allen "Flying Towards The Sound"
Danger Mouse & Daniele Luppi "Rome"
Dead Kenny Gs "Operation Long Leash" (CD)
Garage A Trois "Always Be Happy But Stay Evil"
Benny Green "Source" (CD)
Head & The Heart S/T
Hank Jones "Last Recording"
The Kills "Blood Pressures"
Kurt Vile "Smoke Ring For My Halo"
Yuck S/T

The three 2011 releases that seem to have gotten the most play around here are Adele's "21," Radiohead's "King of Limbs," and Death Cab for Cutie's "Codes and Keys."

The least played, of the albums I've bought this year? Eddie Vedder's solo album Ukulele Songs.

Not that I'm biased against the ukulele, mind: one of my most-enjoyed albums from 2010 was Amanda Palmer's "Amanda Palmer Plays the Popular Hits of Radiohead on her Magic Ukulele" (or something along those lines)>

I just looked in my history of purchases for the last month and they were all discoveries of new artists with older albums. Did you mean to list what we have bought this year or what music has come out this year that we have bought?

Amir, I'm just shamelessly trolling for new music, so whatever you got :D

Kurt Elling-The Gate
Charles Lloyd - Mirror
Brad Mehldau - Highway Rider
Paul Motian - Lost In A Dream
Bonnie Raitt- The Lost Broadcast

If you like "Flying Towards The Sound" get the "Live CD."

Jessica Lea Mayfield "Tell Me"
Jonathan Meiburg "Why I Love My Home (songs for Charles Burchfield)"

Wow! I think this is a record year for me (no pun intended). I agree with the comment about the exceptional crop of stuff in 2011. The industry has changed so much and now even the most obscure artist, who may be much more skilled than the popular, is easily accessible so exposure to a larger pool of music is allowing a total field day for music freaks like me.

Thanks for all the suggestions. Lots of work to do on Amazon...
