In 2015, this principle was further advanced into an L-shaped cantilever structure, adapted from the action mechanism of a full-concert grand piano. The result was a substantial increase in structural rigidity and damping efficiency. This design became the WELLFLOAT standard, subsequently applied to a variety of models. The innovation earned widespread recognition not only from discerning audiophiles but also from professional performers and recording engineers, who valued its measurable and audible improvements.

The refinement also extended into industrial design, featuring the precise styling of Shiro Nakamura—a legendary automotive designer and former CCO of Nissan, who designed many renowned cars including the GT-R. WELLFLOAT products combined functional excellence with an aesthetic appeal suited for the world’s finest audio systems.

Eliminating Vibration-Induced Stress through Pendulum Mechanics

Every audio component generates vibrational energy. As this energy propagates through materials, resonances at various stages create subharmonics—non-linear distortions that manifest as difference tones. Over time, these distortions accumulate, producing a final sound reproduction that is colored and less accurate. What may appear as an increase in “impact” when components are placed directly on a surface is, in fact, the byproduct of distortion emphasizing certain frequency ranges.

Conventional isolation methods—using magnets, rubber, or coil springs—are inherently non-linear in their response. Pendulum motion, however, behaves linearly for small oscillations. This allows impulse responses to be preserved with high fidelity, minimizing phase and harmonic distortion. By applying its unique pendulum-based mechanism, WELLFLOAT delivers vibration isolation with quantum-level precision while avoiding the non-linear side effects characteristic of other methods.

The Pinnacle of Isolation: Multi-Stage Pendulum Technology

In 2022, WELLFLOAT introduced Babel, a groundbreaking four-stage pendulum isolator. Remarkably, this structure mirrors vibration-isolation systems used in gravitational wave observatories, where extreme sensitivity demands unprecedented suppression of external disturbances. Calculations demonstrate that Babel achieves an isolation ratio of approximately 10^16—one part in one hundred quadrillion—an achievement that places it firmly within the domain of quantum-scale phenomena.

Wellfloat Double

Building upon this scientific breakthrough, WELLFLOAT entered a new phase in 2023 with a suite of advanced products: the WELLFLOAT Double audio board (employing a two-stage pendulum system), the stand-alone isolator DELTA Extreme II, and the world’s first four-layer pendulum-based high-end rack Pegasus II. Each represents the culmination of physics-informed engineering and a relentless pursuit of sound reproduction that is as close to the original performance as physically possible.

That attempt at drumming up interest went nowhere.

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to share some background information for those interested in Wellfloat products. We are the official importer for Wellfloat in North America, and we’ve been proudly working with the manufacture for about a year now. In that time, we’ve imported over 1,000 units, including several of the Pegasus audio racks.

Wellfloat is a world-class anti-vibration manufacturer based in Japan, known for combining advanced vibration control technology with elegant design. The products feature styling by Shiro Nakamura, the legendary automotive designer and former CCO of Nissan, best known for his work on iconic cars such as the GT-R.

We encourage stores and end users who’ve purchased Wellfloat products to share their experiences and honest feedback here. It’s always great to hear real-world impressions from the community.

Thanks for taking the time to read, and feel free to reach out if anyone has questions about the brand or products.

Cheers,

Hi,

Yes there are retailers in the US and Canada. Where are you located so we could direct you to the proper location?

Hi,

In terms of custom sizes; there are definitely different size boards to put your audio components on in different size custom audio racks. The largest rack they build is for the Aries Cerat gear which is some of the larger electronics available. For speakers it's highly recommended that you go with their Delta footers.

My name is Lenny Ferrara, and I own and operate an ultra high-end audio store in San Leandro, California, featuring world-class brands such as Brodmann, Horns Solution, DEQX, Pink Faun, In-Akustik, and Wellfloat.
Over the past several years, I’ve incorporated a range of Wellfloat isolation devices—including the Babel, Delta footers, and Double Boards—into my systems with truly extraordinary results.
The impact of Wellfloat’s isolation technology has been nothing short of transformative—comparable to a major component upgrade in terms of sonic performance. Having tried numerous isolation solutions in the past, I can confidently say that nothing approaches the effectiveness and refinement of Wellfloat.

The package arrived, unassuming for the revolution it contained. Twenty-four Wellfloat Delta footers, their reputation whispered in audiophile circles, but nothing truly prepared me for the seismic shift they would instigate in my listening room.

My journey began with a cautious optimism. First, under the hulking elegance of my Odeon Semper speakers. The immediate effect was startling. Not subtle, not gradual – immediate. It was as if a fine, persistent mist had been swept away from the soundscape. Suddenly, clarity bloomed, unveiling previously obscured details within familiar tracks. The soundstage, already impressive, expanded beyond the physical dimensions of the room, instruments gaining a more defined placement and a palpable sense of air around them. The same transformative magic occurred beneath my REL 812 6-pack subwoofer stack, a foundation of bass that now possessed newfound articulation and depth, free from any hint of muddiness.

A few days later, armed with this newfound conviction, I brought a set to my neighbor's place. His Estelon XB Diamond MKII’s, already paragons of sonic excellence, underwent a similar metamorphosis. The same immediate blossoming of clarity, the same expansive soundstage – a shared moment of astonishment that validated my initial impressions.

But it was what happened next that truly cemented the Wellfloat Delta footers as indispensable. My Aries Cerat Essentia Monoblocks, the very heart of my amplification, had always delivered power and finesse in spades. I believed I understood their sonic signature intimately. Placing the Wellfloat Deltas beneath them, however, was not an improvement; it was an awakening.

The change was profound, almost unbelievable. Treble extension climbed to new, ethereal heights, revealing the shimmer of cymbals with an exquisite, natural decay I hadn't realized was missing. Bass punch, already formidable, gained an urgency and tactile impact that resonated deep within the chest, yet remained taut and controlled. And the 3 dimensionality – oh, the 3 dimensionality! It was no longer just width and depth; it was volume, a living, breathing acoustic space where performers existed with startling realism. Sounds detached themselves completely from the speakers, hanging suspended in a vibrant, holographic tableau. This wasn't just a tweak; it was as if I’d upgraded my monoblocks to a model several tiers higher. They should be made mandatory for any serious system. The claim that Wellfloats equate to a major component upgrade? Easily concurred with, and in my experience, understated.

I haven't yet ventured into the realms of the Babel platforms or the double boards, but the results I've experienced fill me with an eager anticipation for what further sonic wonders they might unlock. My next immediate project will be strategically placing them under the spikes on my Symposium Acoustics racks, and I've already begun the process of ordering 12 more to complete this sonic optimization.

After over forty years immersed in this incredible hobby, chasing marginal gains and experiencing countless tweaks, I can confidently say this: the Wellfloat Delta footers represent the least expensive and most profoundly impactful 'tweak' I have ever encountered. They are not mere accessories; they are conduits to a deeper, richer, and more exhilarating musical experience
