It's fascinating watching them work from space.
Being an astronaut on the Starship Enterprise with Captain Kirk was a fantasy as a child, although in retrospect, Picard was a better captain, at least the plots were a bit more realistic.
I faked being sick when John Glenn did his three revolutions around the earth so I could stay home from school and see the entire event from lift-off to splash-down in 1962. I did the same thing when Edward White did the first space walk in 1965, except my mother knew I was faking. She let me stay home from school anyway. Thanks, mom!
