Hear This is celebrating its fourth anniversary, and as seekers of innovative brands, is honoured to reintroduce Trafomatic Audio to audiophiles in the United States.

To commemorate this milestone, Hear This introduces Sasa Cokic's latest creation: the Elysian GM-70-powered monoblocks. For this model, Sasa hand-winds and tests each transformer. Each monoblock delivers 65 watts per channel in parallel single-end mode, making them versatile enough to drive a wide array of the world’s finest loudspeakers.

Complementing its bigger brother, the Elysium pictured below, the intention is to rival the Elysium’s sonic qualities and properties in a more approachable, streamlined package.

The first stateside Elysian installation will feature them powering Von Schweikert’s Ultra-7 loudspeakers. This coming January, in the Midwest, the Elysians will be showcased powering both Alsyvox planar speakers and a modified pair of Cessaro's, combined with custom bass horns. A date is in the works to present the amplifiers at Hiram Toro’s new Las Vegas showroom, where they will power Odeon Carnegie speakers.

As per usual, if you’re an audiophile yearning to find your end-game amplifier, you are always welcome to contact me via private message, email or that old standby, the telephone. We can then coordinate a dealer demonstration or arrange an in-home audition. Contact information for Hear This is below.

Elysian amplifiers: let's hope they are not just for heroes and the virtuous, otherwise I'd be clearly out of contention.D, I love your new avatar - a serious and thoughful one matching your person perfectly:)

Congratulations, Gary, on re-introducing Saša's great brand of tube electronics! I know the Elysiums from seeing them numerous times at Munich powering horn loudspeakers, and from hearing them drive my friend, audioquattr's, big Cessaro loudspeaker system in The Netherlands.

I know and love the Lara tube line stage with outboard power supply from the several months you let me audition her at home.

Saša's electronics represent very high-quality tube design and execution and state-of-the-art sound quality at relatively reasonable prices.

I look forward to hearing the new GM-70s at some point!

Hello everyone, Elysian amplifiers look beautiful, and interesting. My only experience with tube amplifications, PS audio, BHK, were problematic and noisy. I’d love to hear opinions on how these would compare and contrast to my current solid state amplifiers. I have Audionet Heisenberg’s, along with the Stern preamplifier. My speakers are Vivid Giya G2’s. Thanks!

Gary what do they sell for ?

Fast freight. I am a fan of the Vivids. Angus Leung, my partner from WestminsterLab, uses them in his research listening room in Hong Kong. I also have great respect for the Audionet gear, especially the flagship. I have long been a big believer in tube preamplifiers when used with solid-state amplification. While the new tube amplifiers will drive your Vivid, I suggest you try the Tara 30a pre-amplifier with your Heinsenbergs, which will combine the harmonic density and overall magic of the single-ended experience with the speed and drive of your big Heinsenberg amplifiers. This would, I believe, be a magic combination and the best of all worlds for your Vivids. I would be happy to send you the preamp for a listen at a mutually convenient time.

Note that the separate power supply comes with a dedicated umbilical cable, so it can be placed on lower shelves or elsewhere as needed. Also, the pre has an adjustable gain for perfect matching with the Heisenberg and other SS amplifiers, and is fully balanced end-to-end, which is why there are four 30A tubes.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Elliot and Marill, thank you for asking.

The Elysian monoblocks (in the finish of your choice): $85,000 for the pair.
Tara 30A two-chassis balanced preamplifier, including the dedicated separate power supply: $80,000

Gary what do they sell for ?
Elliot. I would love to try these new amplifiers on the Goebel speakers. Next to my cherished Von Schweikert Ultra, they are among my favorites. High-end loudspeakers and their efficiency and approach should make a powerful combination with the Elysians. Let's explore that possibility, perhaps with an event in Florida!

The Trafomatic Elysium are big, heavy amps, and they sound like the real deal. Fast, full-bodied, natural, transparent, and very powerful. I don't have one yet, as I'm going to get the Wavac 833 MKII soon as a demo and for my reference system. But his two big boys, the Trafomatic Elysium and the Wavac 833MKII, are underrated, true superstars in the single-ended world. Fantastic, smooth, and refined.

Amadeus. TY, appreciate the comments. Sasa is a brilliant designer and builds to a very high standard. I'm excited to have the opportunity to introduce US audiophiles to his extensive body of work.

Gorgeous system by the way!

Hello bleeds, that sounds awesome! I would love to hear that combo. Where are you located? Perhaps we can speak privately sometime. Take care, Ken

Ken, we are based in Orange County, California. PM and let me know where you are, and whenever the time is right, we will arrange for you to hear the Tara 30a.

More than the price, I find myself wondering why this particular manufacturer historically leads with are "red" colored chassis when introducing a new amplifier? What's up with that? Is this some coded message?

I know the routine about "go faster" stripes with automobiles, but what gives?

The ruby red color first appeared on the Rhapsody single-ended integrated several years back. It sold well and was an interesting departure from black amplifiers. Generally, we bring in the black soft touch, which has a smooth-to-the-touch finish and is the blackest black finish - beautiful!

What we would like people to know is that Trafomatic builds its outer shells from tankwood, and each chassis can be custom-painted to suit the customer's taste for a small upcharge. Pictured below is a Tara 30A in a beautiful blue. At this level of play, why not get the look that suits your personality and personal preference?

I second Gary's suggestion. Having recently presented the Trafomatic Tara 30 with the Class A solid state REI dual-monos at the NY show, I can say there's magic in pairing this Tube preamp with high quality solid state power amps.

As with everything, it's a matter of subjectivity but for me, there's a level of organic density that is truly unique and worth giving a try. I think the ULTRA 7 sounded very good with this front end even given the challenging conference hall venue and as anyone who knows me will verify, I'm highly critical of how our show systems perform.
