Does anyone here own one? What are the opinions on sound quality of those that heard them? Any feedback welcome

I am interested too, Special in Magpie 811 Se thivanlab amp.
There are2 a reviews but in german. You can translate to English. Thivan labs has a lot of video demo on youtube. Better then nothing.

I have experienced many of their products including the ThiVan TMS9 pre, the Mavis P200 tube hybrid mono, the U300B pre. Their power amps are dynamic and musical, although the micro details and micro dynamics were not comparable to my other amps. Until recently, when Thi (the owner of ThiVan) brought over my place a Mavis Extreme 1000 tube hybrid (prototype), and now I think this is the best amplifier I have ever tried in my system.

This hybrid power amp drove my Wilson Alexia V with ease. The soundstage was huge and holographic, and music was not only heard but also felt with my whole body.

We played many different genres and it sounded great no matter what we listened to. We also tried several different preamps with it including my VAC Statement Line pre, Robert Koda K15ex super ground and also the built in pre of the E1000. They will launch with an Extreme 1000i (integrated) and Extreme 1000p (power only).

It was a fun evening at my place and they have recorded several videos with their phones so feel free to check them out.

I only got to play around with it for 2 days because I have to travel to the US for a month, but I hope they will finalize the product soon so I will have a chance to listen to it again.

ThiVan Labs specialises in making SET tube amp as the company has been doing it for a long time, whereas Mavis Labs ventures in a new direction which is hybrid tube.

The Sun 833-X is the flagship of ThiVan Labs as the Mavis Extreme 1000 will be to Mavis Labs. While the Sun 833-X might be really musical, the E1000 in my opinion has better bass control while still maintaining tube musicality in the midrange and high frequency.

Thanks, what do you thing of the build quality of this brand ?
Prices seem to be very reasonable even for the flagship Sun-833-X compared to some other more famous tube brands.

The ThiVan Labs built quality is better than that of Mavis Labs. Their latest ThiVan U300B preamp is a beautiful unit, and one great preamp. I have tried it with many different ss power amps and they all sounded good. It is also a good choice for people who wants all mm/mc/ds optical phono inputs.

The Mavis Labs finishing on the other hand is a little on the rough side, I would say not as fine as the ThiVan Labs, though also look quite cool with retro characteristics.
