Studer and others Head shield

On SwissSound issue 32 Hans Hassig mentioned "No headblock shield is necessary because the so-called zone concept greatly reduceds noise fields through strict separation of the subassemblies" in an introductory article of STUDER A816. What exactly is the "zone concept"?

Key phrase is "strict separation of the subassemblies". The deck's power transformer must be in a separate shielded box to reduce EMF strength. In any deck the EMF generated by the power transformer can be picked up by the play head if the play head has inadequate shielding. Here is a photo of the play head and it certainly has EMF shielding on all sides including a manual face shield, so the comment that this deck "needs no head shielding" makes no sense.
