My main system has undergone a few alterations as my interest for vinyl has increased significantly in recent time. I find Technics new Cartridge optimizing technic very promising :).

OUT:
My old McIntosh 7270 with the C52 preamp combo is gone. So is also the Peachtree Nova 500 and the Exogal DAC with external power supply.

IN:
Technics SU-R1000 amp
Technics SL 1210GR Turntable with Ortofon Black LVB 250 MM
Torus power conditioner
Mutec Re-Clocker
A few cords here and there

Have a great day!

I love your ELP « Brain Salad Surgery » photo.
Thanks PierreB. It is actually my wifes. She always been fascinated by H.R Giger. We have a few pieces from him at home :).
Kind regards

Love your Logans but hate that glass table, couldn't be in a worse place.

Maybe the glass table effects the sound in a negative way? Waves bouncing on it in all directions. Need to give that a thought because it rests on blocks from the Berlin Wall.

I am a firm believer in the 'golden triangle', nothing should be between your speakers and your listening position.

A question. I currently run 2x7 meters speaker cables due to how I have organised my home. They are 12 awg quality cables from Chord. Would you consider them to be a bottle neck? A very hifi experienced friend of mine says speaker cables should be maximum 2 meters long to reach optimal performance.

7 metres is not long and there will be no loss in sound quality imho.

I actually run 14 metres of chord cable to my speakers at the back of the room and it sounds fine.
Oh that's good to hear. But have you compared 14metres to say 2 metres in your system? You couldn't hear any difference?

I cart do the comparison between 14 metre cable and my other cables because they are different Brands.my shortest cable is audience 3 metres.

Ok. Understood.

Audioholics also suggest there are no audible differences on cables that short. Mathematical maybe. Perhaps. But Not noticeable for the human ear.

Now I actually feel kind of boring and I must admit that it’s been refreshing to have other speaker designs to rest my eyes on at home. Really nice, actually (Vivid)! Over the past few years, I’ve had great opportunities to listen to various setups of hi-fi. Hi-fi fairs, store demos, etc. I’ve listened freely and occasionally evaluated both one and the other high-end design. I’m deeply grateful for that and for what makes this hobby so much fun.
But, all things considered, for this room and with these ears that have grown accustomed to the velvety yet detailed soundstage that Martin Logan creates, I only saw one path forward: more of everything I already love so much. So I went for the big brother, the ESL15 (sold my ESL 11’s a month ago). The ESL 15 truly delivers a massive and airy soundstage, but now with even more power and body in the sound waves, along with a robust low end—like having four 12-inch drivers in the room. Actually, it’s six, I must remind myself, including the sub from B&W

.
Each speaker weighs ca 64 kg, with a 43% larger electrostatic membrane area and 1 dB higher sensitivity (compared to the ESL11). The increased physical proportions lay the foundation for me taking the next step in the “planar/hybrid” universe. They sound so grand yet so delicate at the same time. Gentle Giants!?

There’s still a lot of tweaking to be done. They need proper feet. The bass and mid-bass need to be calibrated, and they will be fine-tuned with ARC room EQ. They’ll be moved back and forth, angled and adjusted. But unfortunately, for me, it won’t get more exciting than this. Sorry, for that.
Have a gr8 hifi-evening all of you whereever you are!
