After years of experimenting with all kinds of power solutions — from standard power strips to active conditioners and isolation transformers — I’ve finally come across a product that truly surprised me: Signal Projects Filtron CX.

I honestly didn’t expect a passive power filter to bring such a profound calmness, resolution, and natural flow to the music — all without limiting energy or dynamics in any way.

Design & Construction

The Filtron CX is a completely passive power filter/distributor built exclusively with Signal Projects’ own in-house design solutions.
You won’t find any off-the-shelf components inside — every element is custom-made and hand-assembled: pure copper coils wound to specification, a “virtual ground” topology, and dual toroidal isolation that effectively suppresses both electromagnetic and RF noise.

The entire chassis is CNC-milled from a solid block of aluminum, perfectly shielded and damped.
Internal wiring uses 7N copper in a fully symmetrical topology.

Technically, the unit operates with ultra-low leakage current (below 0.7 mA @ 250V / 50Hz), which means zero current compression and full dynamic freedom even for high-power amplifiers.
It offers seven star-grounded outputs, each fully isolated — no daisy-chaining.

Weighing over 23 kg, it’s not your typical power strip — it’s a solid piece of precision metalwork and copper, where every design choice makes sense.

Listening Experience

System used:

  • DAC: Aries Cerat Kassandra Reference II
  • Speakers: Aries Cerat Symphonia
  • Server/Transport: Pachanko Constellation Masterpiece
  • Power filtering: Sroll Quantum (in series, analog/digital separated)
  • Cables: Signal Projects Andromeda, Atlantis, UltraViolet (power & RCA)

I placed the Filtron CX between the wall outlet and my digital front-end (server + DAC).

The first impression was stunning: total silence between notes — music seemed to “emerge from nothing.” The subtle grain and residual tension I’d previously blamed on the power grid simply vanished.

Resolution: a huge leap in microdynamics — breathing, decays, tonal textures — everything became more intelligible and fluid.
Soundstage: wider, deeper, and most importantly, more stable — instruments had well-defined, three-dimensional presence.
Silence: a blacker, calmer background — not the artificial kind, but a natural, relaxed quietness that lets the music flow freely.
Bass: tighter, faster, more articulated — no bloat, no thinning, just precision and weight.

The overall character? Organic, effortless, and tonally superb.

Compared to common filters (Shunyata, Isotek, PS Audio), the Filtron CX doesn’t add any “effect.” It simply removes a veil between the source and amplifier — everything becomes smoother, clearer, and more natural.

⚙️ Technical Notes

  • Each outlet is independently filtered and star-grounded — no shared conductors.
  • Purely passive design, no current limiting (rated up to 30A).
  • The Virtual Ground circuit helps eliminate noise even in asymmetrical installations.
  • Strongly recommended to pair it with Signal Projects’ own power cables — the synergy is clearly audible.
  • Hand-built in Greece, each unit individually measured and certified.

Summary

The Signal Projects Filtron CX is a power filter for true high-end systems — showing just how much clean power influences sound quality.
It doesn’t impose its own character; it unlocks the potential of the entire system.

If you’re looking for a filter that:

  • doesn’t restrict current or dynamics,
  • keeps the sound open and natural,
  • and delivers absolute clarity without sterility —
then the Filtron CX is absolutely worth auditioning.

For me, it’s the best passive power filtration I’ve ever heard — not just on paper, but in real listening sessions.

As the official distributor of Signal Projects in the Czech Republic, I might sound biased — but honestly, the Filtron CX would have impressed me even as a private listener. It changed my entire view of what power management can achieve.

Signal Projects approaches “Power Management” as a holistic concept — the way your entire system breathes together, both technically and materially. Their eleven product lines are designed to work in full synergy, and I can confirm that the more Signal Projects cables I integrated, the better the system sounded.

Last night I listened for over 10 hours straight — I simply couldn’t stop. Music I knew by heart revealed new layers and nuances I’d never noticed before.
The bar keeps rising.

As Stavros from Aries Cerat once told me with a smile, when I offered him cables from another brand:

“Thanks, but we already have good cables.”
Now I understand exactly what he meant.

Signal Projects — Music is the best.

There’s very little information available about these units, so I’m really curious to learn more.

How exactly do they work? What’s the operating principle behind them, and what’s actually inside?

I have same informations as you, except I hear what I hear and I like it.

SPs are nailing it from all angles - I still miss few of their cables in the system to complete the entire SP loom. Latest addition was Atlantis USB and indeed its a phenomenal cable. Maybe I move later to their power conditioner as well :D
