Thats very interesting if successful. I dumped Roon several years ago and have never looked back
OK just had a conversation with Roon and you can not roll back to a previous version. The Roon backup that takes place only backs up the database and not the server software. There is no provision for backing up the server software.
Yes I guess the simple solution is to provide a provision to also backup/restore the server SW along with the database. That's what I had been told. Having been involved with website/software development (design not coding) that's a really awful way to do it.
exactly what I thought otherwise it would be known by everyone and there would be no more threads such as this oneThat's what I had been told. Having been involved with website/software development (design not coding) that's a really awful way to do it.
Somehow I doubt if everyone knew this there wouldn't be a thread on Roon Frustrations.exactly what I thought otherwise it would be known by everyone and there would be no more threads such as this one
Talk to LD about Squeezelite as a roon output engineYou could be right. I know reverting is very difficult if at all possible. I don't think I have a back to restore pre 913 but if you're correct I could make one for 913 to potentially restore.
I would be happy to install Squeezelite. I am just software saavy enough to be dangerous. If someone could tell me what to do or how to find directions I would purchase it. Lucas D. looked at my 2nd server for me (via Anydesk) but couldn't figure out a way to get access to where he needed to on that server install HQPlayer.Talk to LD about Squeezelite as a roon output engine![]()

I am assuming you have remote access via RDP/TeamViewer. I installed Squeezelite-x from Microsoft Store on my Win10 using RDP. You can also download the software fromI'm guessing Squeezebox needs to be installed on my server and I have no idea how to do that. I have the server connected to a monitor and a keyboard but there is no GUI at all. Just text that indicates Roon (core) is connected to my network. I figured at the very least there might be a CMD prompt. Squeezelite is enabled in my Roon settings but it obvious can't use it if the software isn't installed on my Roon server.
If anyone knows how to access the Roon server to install Squeezelite please DM me. I don't want to hijack this thread, but it's frustrating that there is a fix to Roon sound quality issues but I don't know how to deploy it.
Thanks.

I don't use HQP anymore atmI would be happy to install Squeezelite. I am just software saavy enough to be dangerous. If someone could tell me what to do or how to find directions I would purchase it. Not sure how Roon Rock is built but if you have another small system you could install win10 and squeezelite-x on it.Thanks but this might be beyond my capabilities. I know I can't use RDP because Roon Rock doens't use Windows, its a version of Linnux. I downloaded Team Viewer but I cant connect to the remote PC even though it's on my network. The server's builder said he's never used or installed Squeezebox and couldn't even tell me how I can add software to the Roon Rock server he built.
