I have experience for cartridge re-tipping. The tip of my Micro Benz was coming off from the linkage. I sent it back to Micro Benz Factory, retip and calibrated for me. Price was reasonable. Now another cartridge has the same problem. It is a Koetsu Black Goldline. Does any member can source for me any reliable smith can do the retipping work for my Koetsu cartridge for me.

Steve Leung comes highly recommended (by me, and many others). I have no business connection with Steve, but I have used his services with excellent results.

Steve did a great job repairing my Koetsu Black (old Sugano model). I recommend him highly.

I like Steve because he is very competent and also very responsive. He is also honest about time frames.

I have also used Sound-Smith (Peter Ledermann) and he is also very good. But historically his turnaround times have been longer than Steve’s. I don’t know if Peter is still doing this kind of work. He had serious medical issues during Covid 19.

I just looked them up.

It looks like Sound-Smith is still an option.

Johnson, thank you for the valuable information. I will try to contact both Steve and peter. I learnt from Face book there is a technician name Mr. Thanh from Vietnam. He showed a video for re tipping the Koetsu Black Goldline. I can't tell his workmanship. Please price is 1/2 of a used Koetsu priced from E bay. Price is a consideration factor, but the quality is a big issue. As my Koetsu was made by Sugano San. It becomes a legend. The re tipping work of this cartridge is unable to give up.
