Presumed Innocent

for some light summer viewing this was a fun 8 part miniseries starring Jake Gyllenhaal

in brief: It tells the story of a horrific murder that upends the Chicago Prosecuting Attorneys' office when one of its own is suspected of the crime

It's a very easy watch as each episode is no more than 45 minutes. I must admit that my wife and I had fun throughout the 8 parts predicting whodunnit. Not great but definitely a fun watch

I found it entertaining it if you give the storyline any thought it completely falls apart. Still, a fun watch.

Also liked this. I was stumped til the end. It did a great job of giving lots of red herrings

I have seen the Harrison Ford movie. Will that ruin it for me?

I went back and forth on 3 people and thought I had it at the end until the final 5 minutes
I just knew it wasn't him. However, I mostly thought it was the son. The wife seemed too weak to pull it off and the daughter wasn't at all obvious. One thing I did note was that as the episodes progressed the daughter seemed to be the most sympathetic of the three family members and the only one that was sure he didn't do it...no we know why.

You actually gave away the ending.

The series was good, a couple of filler episodes in the middle but kept the tension

You do know there was another earlier movie starring Harrison Ford that gave away he didn’t do it, right?
I saw it yet I would not give anything away who knows what readers have seen

That movie had a completely different ending.

Raul Julia was one of my favorite actors, and I thought he did brilliantly once again in Presumed Innocent, representing Harrison Ford's character in the movie. It was terrible when he passed away at 54 after 3 years from stomach cancer.

Yes, who did it was different but it wasn't the main character in both...they just put several episodes of spin because they of course assumed a lot of people saw the original movie.

I started watching the series but couldn't finish it with all the changes from the book and the original movie.
