I actually use the USB-X4 with Plink to my MPD8, and it's a great upgrade; I am considering adding a Farad Super 3 as an external power supply to the USB-X4. Any experience about improving sound with it?

I just hooked up an ifi elite lps to the USB-X4 and can say even this makes a positive difference. I would think the Farad would add a larger difference.

Wow this is literally what I am doing as well. I bought the origin and they told me to do the same thing.

Quick question for you though, did you get after market power cable for the tempus power supply into the router?

As of now I am leaning not to and just use those original basic "lamp cords"

I have shunyata power cables throughout everything else in my chain including the tempus switch + origin power supply.

Yes I am running a Nordost Frey 2 into the tempus power supply into the router. Somehow that does make a difference as it all counts. Everything else I have Cardas Clear Beyond XL.
