I have in the past had an extended listen to the Amphion Krypton 2 speakers in all but an ideal setup and to be honest was not overly impressed with the result but suspect to be honest this was more to do with the room/placement than enything else.

As I currently have a pair of Amphion Argon 2 Anniversery Birch speakers (amongst many others ) that I am rather impressed with considering their obvious limitations and I am currently looking for a new pair of speakers amongst building a room ect.

I would be interested in the experience of others that have auditioned these speakers and your comments about their performance sound ect.

thank you in advance.

It is amazing how things happen sometimes, my above assessment of these speakers was at the very least in accurate as it happens fast forward to 2018 and I actually bought these exact speakers from the original purchaser at a very good price as it worked out. Upon getting them home and setting up all was not right as it turned out one of the tweeters had a fault intermittently, through the importer I purchased a matched pair from the factory of K3 spec units. I duly replaced these and in time the speakers came to life and have given me many years of great listening pleasure, In December 2023 I had the chance to home audition the latest Krypton 3X version along with an Aqua Formula XHD V2 dac.
The upshot was that neither piece of equipment left my system the combination is fantastic and only getting better with burn in the 3X version is a major step up for this speaker and would embarrass many far more expensive speakers with ease. I have these paired with a 6 stack of Rel S510 subs and a number of very experienced fellow audiophiles who have had a listen are simply staggered by the performance of my rig it is a listening experience to remember has been their unanimous response. If you are in the market for a moderately priced speaker that has stellar all round performance these 3X Amphion Krypton's are well worth the effort from a two time owner.

I have a pair of Argon 7LS. I used them as my main speakers for a few years and now they are in my 2nd system. I've always been curious how the Krypton 3s now 3Xs would sound. If I was going to try a new pair of speakers Krypton 3Xs would be first in line. The only concern I have is the sensitivity as my amp is 20 watts and I wouldn't want to look for a different amp.

GS, as always it is best to audition potential new gear with your own equipment to avoid disappointment later I drive my 3X's with a pair of AA Class A bridged mono's and as they are 4ohm's this gives me a comfortable 400 watts of pure Class A per side (actual not theory AA factory tested). That is not to say your Aric amp doesn't produce the current to drive them to the level you are looking for as this is an assessment only you can make in your room with your ears. If you ran the 7LS's with the same amp/room then that should give you a fair idea of what to expect as they are similar but different in many respects with the Amphion sound, either way I believe it would be worth your effort to audition the 3X's they really are that good.
