Just heard from my local Pass dealer, who attended the recent Munich trade show, that Pass will be changing their entire line of class A amps starting in September. This is quite a shake-up for a company that has long product lines, usually several years. Anyone else have news about this?
There is an audio - visual equipment show here in BKK this weekend (June 7-8) and my Pass dealer was there. He had just come from Axpona, had met and visited with the Pass Labs CEO, Anastasia (sp??) and she confirmed that by August there would be new class A amplifiers from Pass. They are going to update the XA and XS lines. I believe that the X line will not be changed for now. These new amps are their class A lines only. The new XS pre-amp is already out and will be available for customers to see and hear soon. Hoping these new class A amps have a cooler operating temperature. My dealer friend was showing the new Audio Research amps (Ref 300m mono blocks); they were quite cool, driving Estelon Forza speakers. Pass has also announced a price increase of about 15%.. Price increases also coming from McIntosh.
Happy -- albeit more expensive -- days ahead for all Pass enthusiasts out there.
