New MSB Cascade DAC

Jonathan generously switched to an earlier flight from San Francisco to Hong Kong to personally replace a defective toroidal transformer in my MSB Select II DAC analog powerbase, just in time for my audiophile friends' Thursday afternoon audition, coinciding with their visit to Hong Kong for the High End show. Thank you so much for your exceptional dedication and service!

My experience with MSB as well! Great guys with stellar products.

Hello all. A member of this forum was promoting links and information on Larry Gullman on this thread. I imagine they thought they were doing a good work, but their aim was far off and instead hurting individuals and victims of abuse. It is a very personal matter, but if you are curious to know more and understand the situation, you can read about it here:
Why Larry Gullman is No Longer at MSB

This is not something we are looking to have a public discussion on, but you can message me directly if needed. We decided to make a public statement so there is no ambiguity or misunderstanding.

Excellently worded message, Daniel. Must have been pretty tough to write.

I saw this and thought that the amount of negative unrelated stuff that appears on this and other sites is reprehensible. Thank you for your reply and your courage to stand up.

Thank you for this. I know this must have been difficult. Had no idea what was behind it other than than that Larry is not shown as affiliated on your website.

You guys have an absolutely top notch company, and I aspire to one day owning one of your creations.

Thank u for sharing here such a personal, vulnerable, disarming and selfless message. If there is character behind a company worthy of support, I learned today it is MSB

Cant help but agree ; it is good to know more about whats been known but not talked about for a very long time. The cascade does look like a very good dac!

agree with all of the above support and respect.

@Daniel Francis, regarding your beautiful industrial designs where do you take your inspiration? For example, the designer of the Mola Mola gear, Bruno Putzeys, must have eating a lot of sushi and therefore worked with designers for a wave-like look (and logo) and fish-themed names for the gear.

Given the name of the DAC, were you looking at waterfalls while mountain biking?

Pyp, the Cascade name is actually in recognition of the California Cascade mountains. My brother and I do a lot of backpacking, camping, and cycling through these mountains. When we named the Cascade DAC, I had just completed a 350mile segment of the Oregon Trail as part of a gravel cycling race event. The Sentinel Name doubles as standing Sentinel in our product range but also for Sentinel Peak in California. Our aim is to start representing more of the local areas and character of California's natural beauty. It is and will continue to be a big part of our brand. I personally contribute to land conservation efforts locally and would love to further support these efforts.

For my industrial design, one of the top priorities is simplicity. My work significantly informed by Dieter Rams principles, especially the idea of honesty. This focus is the reason our products are compact and not overstated. I think it offers a timelessness that will outlast the ebb and flow of modern design trends.

and like all art, your designs reflect the time period. It seems this is a Dieter Rams design:

I am very much looking forward to visiting and hearing the Sentinel. While I have not yet heard the Cascade, many people I respect rave about it.
