That along with a $0.10 capacitors and a rubber band connected to a plastic sub platter with a 6-10mm metal shaft in a bronze sleeve with a ball bearing at the bottom isn't very expensive when it's mounted in a piece of painted MDF and has a piece of glass or acrylic sitting on top. The small motors like this are not great at speed control.
