I wasn't able to watch the first half last night but the Clippers looked lethargic to me.

Paul George had a terrible game shooting, going 4 for 17.

Playoffs is not the time to slack off. Can't turn it on at will.

That was precisely my point. They did look slow and lethargic yet were in the game until the last 4 minutes. When they are clicking they are difficult to beat

Shaq and Boban's back and forth was hilarious. Dallas has my vote for most likable team....just keep Cuban away from the cameras LOL

Hypothetical question: If Trevor Ariza decides today that he wants to enter the bubble, how long before he's allowed to play? If the Blazers manage to get past the Lakers, he could be very useful.

What worries me about the Clips is that they don't seem to have the intensity they had last year. We all know the Klaw and PG are two of the best wing defenders but it's as if they are saving their energy, or their health, for later. I think if that's the case, they had better push all their chips in now lest there be no later. I want to see the PG that totally shut Harden down that one game last year. What I really want to see is Doc unleashing a SoCal death lineup of Jackson, Williams, PG, Kawhi and Harrell doing a 3rd quarter slice and dice. To my eyes it just looks like they play at a predictable pace and that's what allows opponents to adjust and go on their own extended streaks. In short I want the 48 minutes of dog ball culture they promised. So far it is the Heat that is displaying that.

Isn't the whole point of being deep the luxury of having your starters go all out because you can afford to let them rest on the bench? Don't load manage on the court for crying out loud.

Jack, you hit the nail on the head - several times.

I've been waiting all year to see it my friend. I really want them to do well (I have a bet with my 13 year old LOL). I still haven't seen it and I'm getting frustrated.

Stevie, I should get Joaquin to join this thread hahahaha He asks me every so often about you and Cathy. He's starting to become a Jadis Jr when it comes to Basketball trivia. Varsity has been trying to pry him from Soccer where he is a starting right wing. Great footwork like all soccer kids that start training at 6 or 7 yrs of age. Terrific handle and has some range, starting to be able to finish with his left too. I told him he can switch sports if he gets to be at least as tall as JJ Barrea :D

Jack

you and Phil are true historians of the game and I enjoy reading your posts

I asked myself the same about Avery Bradley because as of yesterday there continue to be ZERO cases COVID-19 in the bubble because he too would be ver useful especially with Rondo coming back
What you said about how the Clipps play is exactly my sentiment expressed a few posts back

The ONLY teams that I see who are playing as if they really want it are Raptors in the East and Blazers in the West

Lakers are playing exactly the same way only worse as they can't find a basket from outside the arc and are the worst team statistically

Avery Bradley's absence looming large for Lakers
Veteran guard just the kind of players L.A. could use right now vs. Portland

But this season for the Lakers has high ambitions that go well beyond a rejuvenated Blazers team. This is supposed to be LeBron’s year. This was his chance to team with the most talented big man he’s ever had, win a title and restore the polish to the Lakers' franchise. How can they do this when the Lakers can’t make shots from deep and defensively must deal with guards galore, starting with Lillard and potentially continuing against Russell Westbrook or Chris Paul or Jamal Murray in subsequent playoff rounds?

Great to know the sports interest of Joaquin, Jack. Remember, Hakeem started as a soccer player. :D And I think Steve Nash too. :)

@Stevie I'm nowhere near Jadis level Stevie in Basketball or Collectible LP selection :D I got him beat when it comes to chicken wing eating contests though LOL

@jadis. Thanks Phil maybe Avery B might opt in too. Yeah Joaquin is sports crazy so this Covid thing is hard for him. The good thing is he has taken a shine to coaching videos, both Soccer and Basketball to compensate for the lack of pitch and court time.

I was told by an Olympian friend that there are three sports that if started with can set little kids up for any sport later. Soccer, Gymnastics and Swimming. He said it is because both sides are developed equally as opposed to other sports that will favor the development the dominant hand side and can lead to early core instability. Made sense.

To me if you can still opt in, I would hope Avery would do such as the bubble seems to be the safest place in the country as the most recent testing continued to be negative

Lakers finally find their game and posture and showed up and lead by 17 at the half

Everyone is playing good. Dame has been quiet so be ready for an explosive second half

We are having a monsoon rain storm here so my Directv went out. Desperately need the rain so I won't complain.

Watching online and the Lakers are dominating to this point.

78-52 Lakers halfway trough the 3rd. I guess they got their wake up as they look unbeatable tonight. I guess that's why they are best of 7 series

Probably dislocated his finger
