I think the word 'agent' in describing Rich Paul, is now too meek a word for what power he has and what he can do. He announced something at 8.30am on a week leading to SuperBowl and now the sports world is talking all about where Anthony Davis would end up with. Owning a company that has on its stables many top big names in the NBA is not just an agent, imo.

Skip Bayless Calls Out LeBron James For Instagram Post To Kyrie Irving

Is LeBron James trying to recruit Kyrie Irving to the Los Angeles Lakers?
That’s the impression Skip Bayless got Friday when James tagged Irving in an Instagram video of him singing “Rewind” by Fetty Wap.
And Bayless took James to task for the social media post Monday on FOX Sports 1’s “Undisputed,” calling it a “pathetically desperate” plea by the Lakers superstar to reunite with his former Cleveland Cavaliers teammate.

And,

James further fuelled those rumours by posting an Instagram video in which he’s singing a long to a song playing in his car with Irving tagged in the caption.

The song was Fetty Wap’s “Rewind” and James also made a point to post a clip with the following lyrics: "I know you’re with em now but soon you will be mine, if I could bring it back, I’ll probably press rewind."

Reports have also suggested James is also making it clear to the Lakers that he wants them to trade for Davis.

And Skip Bayless is far from impressed with the latest tactics from the three-time NBA champion to recruit new team-mates.

“When he posts it’s for real,” Bayless said on Skip and Shannon.

“He’s usually passive-aggressively trying to make a statement about something.

“This wasn’t even passive-aggressive. This was just blatant. He tagged him across the top.

“He’s not tampering, it’s just a pathetically, public plea, ‘Please come back Kyrie! I miss my closer. I need my closer’.

my son just told me he read somewhere that it may make sense to trade kyrie for davis. sounds farfetched to me but the reason is kyrie's future in boston is not really etched in stone and he may leave after this season. now comes the courtship of lebron for a reunion in LA so why not just throw kyrie now to the pelicans ( with some other players), get davis to play the rest of this season and the whole of next season for the celtics - that way, lebron does not get davis till the end of 2020, and kyrie, seeing that, may not even join lebron starting next season (2019-2020) when he will become a free agent by opting out since davis will still be in boston. in ainge we trust, and we c's fan trust that he will not give away tatum in the next 4 years.

I assume LeBron is the Lakers designated player as is Kyrie with the Celtics. Is is about the extension Kyrie is to sign that makes the Rose Rule whereas in LA James is not in an extension hence Davis can become a laker .

From what i read, Steve, the Rose rule involves a 'trade'. LeBron came to LA as a free agent, while Kyrie came via the IT trade. So they cannot trade for Davis now until July 1 when the contract of a traded Irving makes him a free agent via player option opting out. i think the Rose rule says you cannot have 2 max player contracts who came in via trade.

jack, to involve a third team means the pelicans would have to want the assets of the third team but as of now, reporters are saying only the lakers and the celtics have the kind of assets that would make the pelicans budge. the pelicans best option is to wait to hear what danny ainge will offer them but that can happen only after july 1, when irving either gets a new contract from the c's or he moves elseswhere as a FA. but if the lakers right now offer the pelicans something that will make them not even want to hear what ainge has to offer after july 1, then davis is theirs. it may even include the gym equipment of the the lakers.

Lakers general manager Magic Johnson presented "five different trade scenarios" to Pelicans GM Dell Demps in pursuit of Anthony Davis on Thursday, according to the Los Angeles Times' Brad Turner. Johnson reportedly dangled Lonzo Ball, Brandon Ingram and Kyle Kuzma in trade talks.

Lakers want to get deal done and have no plans on trying to outbid Celtics during the summer because Lakers will then pursue other free agents besides AD.
