I had the chance to spent a couple of hours listening to the M3 speakers. I couldn't afford $100,000 for speakers, however I can afford around $15,000 have 3 Magic options I am considering is a new pair of A3s, a used pair of S1 Mk 2s or a New pair of A1s with a pair of subwoofers. I have heard the A3s and like what I heard. I have not heard the S1 mk 2s (except at Axponna) and I have not heard the A1s at all. I am not considering any other Magic speakers be cause of the weight. I am in my early 60s and I don't want anything that is hard to move alone.

Get a used pair of S/3 MkIIs when more become available later this year and hire some muscle. Once you get them in the room, you should be OK. I'm an older S3 MkII owner, and I've heard the three you're considering. The S3 MkII is significantly better.

I sure in about a month there will be a number of used S3 MkIIs on the market. I like to have the ability to experiment with speaker placement, that become harder to do with some speakers. I may be moving around more in the next 5 years. My girlfriend and me are planning to build our retirement home in the next 5 to 7 years. At that point I will think about a S3 Mk IV.
