Ok well I made a decision. I ordered black lumin u1 mini, modded by dealer to accept dc power. Ordered Keces p8 to power it and finally DI20HE to be after the u1 in the chain. Will try all different combinations like u1 mini alone, di20he alone, also compare the u1 mini to my pi4b. Will sell whatever doesn't make much of a difference. Hopefully this all works out well. Plan is to go BNC from u1 mini to DI20HE and then i2s or AES into dac.

I really was interested in the soundaware but the lack of reviews made it tough to choose.

Check-in 5yrs later in 09/12/2025. I’ve had the Soundaware D300 for 5 years - no nonsense high quality streamer purchased from Vinshine Audio(Singapore). Highly recommended; Sounds AMAZING! no trouble at all, Great support from Alvin Chee, paired w/ Denafrips Term 2 for Roon users- Roon is great(lifetime)!. D300Ref can be used with other streaming service w/o Roon includes a super capacitor bank for internal battery-like power, a feature absent in the standard D300, along with patented structures, higher-quality components, and an overall higher price point.
