I have a complete collection of the tapes that have been released by Yarlung Records. The company is based in Los Angeles and run by Bob Attiyeh. I started buying their tapes in 2011 and met Bob Attiyeh around a decade ago when we had lunch in Los Angeles. Bob does all the recordings in different venues in the LA area with artists he has discovered over the years. Using a non-profit model with financial support from music loving donors, he has continued to produce recordings. The most recent tapes were released earlier this year. They range from solo and chamber music to full orchestral and choral recordings and several jazz recordings. One of their early recordings is by the Janaki String Trio which has been recognized as an audiophile favorite, is performed by graduates of the Coburn Music School. I have known their violist, Katie Kadarauch who has been the assistant principal violist of the San Francisco Symphony for many years. Katie's family lived in the same town where we live and in the early 1990's, .she and my daughter were in the same youth orchestra when they were in middle school and we carpooled to their weekly rehearsals.

Arian Jansen of SonoruS Audio has provided the tape recorders and engineering support that Yarlung uses for their recording and duplication. For their current recordings they are using the SonoruS ATR10 mkII tape recorder.

Yarlung recordings have received many positive reviews for both their sound quality and performances. Currently their tapes sell from $290 for single tape albums, $550 for two tape albums, and more for three and four tape albums.
