My name is Bond, James Bond

I must agree with the one list that Timothy Dalton was my favorite Bond followed by Craig. Dalton brought an edge to the character instead of playing it like a cartoon.

1. Sean
2. Daniel
3. Pierce
4. Roger
5. Timothy

I would pay big bucks to watch Idris Elba be Bond. Tom Hiddleston would be good too.

I liked Roger and Sean most, and Pierce and Timothy least.

Jemima Bond next.

Hiddlest

If you read all of the books by Ian Fleming, it was almost always tongue in cheek so for me Sean Connery is the one and only Bond. I give second place to Daniel Craig as he is the exact antithesis of Sean Connery

Just a Bond ranking fun thing ... from worst to best ... (from yesterday) ...

Another one ... (from one year ago) ...

In the first link above, quote ...

"To ring in the announcement of the upcoming film's theatrical title, 'No Time To Die', here is a comprehensive ranking of all the titles from the 25 official James Bond movies (sorry, no Never Say Never Again). Remember that the ranking is done by the quality of the film's title, not the film itself."

I think there are as many different rankings as they are people living on the planet, 7.7 billion.
Which ranking is the best most accurate? Probably the one each individual prefer personally.
Are all other rankings inferior and not completely accurate? You betcha. ;):D

Er, wrong, all wrong.
The two Daltons right at the bottom?
Spectre top ten?
You Only Live Twice > From Russia With Love?

Where to start?

Marc, if you make your own list from worst to best, and that you give me your permission, I would comment in the most objective and unbiased way possible known in the history of film crisis critics book. ...No Mickey mouse subjectivity stuff. :) ...Strictly by the numbers, uncensored and unfiltered, raw.

I think Bond movies are largely reliant on the villains as well as who plays bond. Javier Bardem and Christoph Waltz were great.

And Mads Mikkelsen in 'Casino Royale'...Le Chiffre.

...The locales, the cars, the women, the action scenes...fights, the stunts, the aerials, the angles of the cinematography...the Daniel Craig movies offer plenty of that, and that counts too, including the openings with the songs. It's all contributing to the overall diversification and film's entertainment, and with the latest technological gadgets.

* I've checked all opening sequence/montages of all Bond films (25) with the music tunes and it just happened that I like best the last eight; first the latest four with Daniel Craig and the previous four with Pierce Brosnan, starting with the awesome opening montage and song of GoldenEye from 1995.
The technology is certainly more advanced picture and sound wise in the last 25 years compared to all Bond movies before then.

That's my personal taste @ the Bond movies.
I like also all the first movies with Sean Connery, but from another older angle.
Those older opening sequences and montages and songs simply don't compare to the latest ones. Different times different technologies, the visuals in the openings and the culture of that time were different, on various levels. Plus the audio quality was older and less impacting, and the songs from a different time culture.

All Bond films are fun, with also Roger Moore and Timothy Dalton.
It's one of the best movie franchises ever; it's still going in 2020 and further since 1962.
Make that 60 years because in 2022 James Bond won't be dead...that'll be the day.
007 can't simply die, he has to live forever if the movie business wants to .... $$$$

* In the original books, did he die @ the end?

I don't like any bond movie. None. And I love 24, Bourne ultimatum, and while Taken as a movie is very average, Liam Neeson is fantastic in the first part and would have made the best Bond. I don't like mission impossible series either

Ian Fleming died

The books then died as there were no more by him. Fleming was the master with Bond apparently his alter ego

IIRC there were only 12 books which I read completely one sumner. Octopussy was the first non Fleming based Bond movie
