So I wanted to try a zero crossover 8 Inch single full range driver speaker but didn't want to spend a ton or put much effort into it. And if it don't work out well I can repurpose the drivers and box for a next round of test build fun projects.

I bought a pair of Tang Band W8-1772 https://www.parts-express.com/Tang-...iCnzGWZJ6sRP_cIg5yx874ET9JURDkZpMJB9BpRX3ZMgE

and a pair of the Skar audio 8 inch pre-built subwoofer boxes. https://skaraudio.com/products/sing...-coated-ported-subwoofer-enclosure-AR1X8V-SPL

fit them all together with good seal and soldered the wires direct and ran some 15ft speaker wire out the port for a direct connect. The speakers turned out pretty good sound wise, they Need some help on the low end..I have a pair of 8 inch B&W subs I pair with them crossed over at 100hz and the result is FANTASTIC.

I'll add some pictures and video of the system playing later. but it was pretty worth it to get a taste of the full range driver perfect phase coherency sound. Its pretty surprising if you never tried it...not that I would always want to listen this way but on some music its the only way.

Synchronicity.

I share an affinity for 8 inch full rage drivers.

I have an open baffle horn and have used Lowther DX3, then DX4 drivers, Voxativ AC 4X, Fostex FE206NV2, and those very same Tang Band drivers!

Good fun and you can upgrade around them if you like, or compare enclosures, etc.

Their efficiency goes easy on amps, too.

Very old pic with the DX3...
