EMM Mono Blocks MTRX V2 - 1000 watt mono blocks have been in my system now for around 2 months. I have been listening to them and have over the time made some system adjustments and a couple of small changes.
They are nicely made and run cold, and I do mean cold. Like many products i have listened too I think that when you get something new and in this case really good IMO that it takes times to truly integrate it fully in your system. When I changed at first I had mixed feelings especially since IMO SS amps really take some time once plugged in and turned on to settle. I felt this way about Krells , CH Precisions, Esoterics, DAG's . Parasounds, etc.
This usually takes around 72 -96 hours approx. These devices tend to grow over time once they hit the wall and the music going threw them.
Over the last 5 or six weeks I have been listening to them much more critically and seriously. I have been trying to see how much I can get from them. They have tremendous drive and power and an incredible sense or rhythm and pace. The bass in the system is spectacular and hard to critic in any way . I have been making some small speaker placement movements and some rake angle adjustments recently because I feel the neutrality of these amps lets me hear clearly everything that I do with ease.
I don't believe that anything is perfect and if one listens to enough good stuff you can make yourself nuts. This does this and that does that and I find this very true of power amps, probably more so than any other components that I use.
I was without a big SS amp in my place for a while and its fun to have one again. I think the EMM stereo amp , which I also have is a bit softer sounding and perhaps a little more bottom up in sound than the monos which are , and should be , a bit better at everything, which they are.
Ive been playing with the small adjustments this week on the Wadax and things like subtle rake angle movements on the Noblesse and I am having fun because the responses are positive and really easy to recognize. I think I am very close to how far I can push but we shall see, as long as they are here I would like to find the limits.

Elliot, how do those EMMs compare to Riviera Lab 50/100 on the Goebels?

I have heard the Riviera / Goebel combo at Goebel factory during Munich High End Show (actually already twice - in 2024 and 2025) and became a huge fan.

I own the Riviera AFM-100SE mono's. It has been my favorite electronics for a very long time. I have discussed my opinion of them with Oliver and IMO told him he should try them in his big system since I much prefer them to the ten series gear he is using on the Majestics. I think using 4 of them would be amazing . Ok having said that I am also a big fan of the EMM mono's and stereo since they do some things that the Riviera's don't. I have Noblesse speakers with 2 sovereign subs . That is my system. I use a full Wadax reference system with SHunyata grounding and Everest x and typhon t30 power devices. Gobel cables for the most part with a few Shunyata power cords in there as well.
OK so the EMM has incredible grip, control and seemingly unlimited power and slam.
I have worked hard with the change of amps to get the most out of them. At first there were things i liked and didn't like about the mono's however with some work, time playing and a few minor changes they disappeared.
I am going to switch back to the Riv's in the next week or so to collect my overall impressions and thoughts once again and I will be happy to report then.
I am not trying to hedge I am just really happy with what I am getting from the MTRX V2 and I need to return to my AFM-100 SE to try to explain whatever differences I hear. The Riviera's do make magic unlike anything I had heard before. I wish they made a huge set of mono's even though I probably couldn't buy them LOL
I am always all about taking whatever I have to the max and just shoving stuff in and out of a system usually only tells part of the tale.
I'm sorry to avoid answering directly I just don't have the "facts" on hand today

Congratulations on adding EMM, Elliot. It's nice to have choices to offer your clients, and certainly be able to provide them with a different approach to sound and circuit design. 100 vs. 1000 watts, whoa!

Back in the day, I owned Ed's Musetex MTR-101 monos and Pa6i preamp, powering M1 bi-polar speakers, which I have fond memories of. The small, short signal path design and unique power supply approach of the 101's reminds me of what I love about our WestminsterLab amplifiers. Again, best of luck with your expanding offerings and the new store. GL

I heard them driving the AG Trio G3s...interesting combination and was really surprised to see the system set up that way. I was extremely impressed by what I heard.

Never heard them on AG but they do some amazing things on my speakers. The sense of control and ease is intoxicating.

I could well believe that based on what I heard from that system, and to a degree, from what I have read about Ed Meitner.

It would be great to read how you compare the MTRX with your Riviera Ref Monos when you can...I believe others have already asked and you have already acknowledged. Just repeating for emphasis and enthusiasm then...! ;)

I am awaiting a new item to put into the system which should arrive this week or next. I want to try that in the context of what I have been working on and listening too before I go back to the Riviera Mono's. I do plan on doing that soon. I am not a reviewer, I do like both of these products, but I will try to describe what I hear when I do it. I do not believe that any product is perfect and we all have things we like and don't like and these specifics should be the determining factor in what we own.
Some things to think about
Both of these amps are not insanely priced
Both of these amps have worked perfectly ever day
Both of these amps IMO look really good
Both of these amps produce excellent results and great sound
My speakers are not hard to drive but there are things that a big amp can do that small ones cant and maybe vice versa.
I have never felt that the Riviera was short on power or that it had any difficulty driving the Noblesse but there are certainly a difference with the EMM which I will try to describe when this process happens.

Thank you! And absolutely agree on just about everything you've said if not in fact everything. Very much looking forwarding to it.
