Do the Playback Designs MPS-5 and MPD-5 support native 4x DSD when using the USB-XIII interface? On the PD web site, they say the 5-series supports only 2x DSD. But the USB-XIII manual is unclear but seams to suggest it can be used with the 5-series to play [native?] 4x DSD on the 5-series. Thanks.

I am using the Stream -IF with my MPS-5. I upsample to DSD x 4 using Room on a i9 Sonic Transporter. It works flawlessly and the difference between X2 to X4 is huge in my system.
I realize this was not your question but just information. My understanding is USB XIII is as Steve said.

Brad,
I'm considering purchasing a PD Stream IF. I have a PD MPS-5. (hardware upgraded) with the original usb-x (version 1). Did you hear a substantial improvement when you upgraded to the Stream IF? My server is a mac mini with Uptone Audio mods and power supply.
Thanks.
Vito
Hello Veto,
In and of itself there was some improvement with the Stream IF. The ability to upsample to 256 and run fiber via the PLINK connections was for me substantial improvement in.
