Hi, any thoughts, user reviews on this one?

Next year is going to finally be the year I get into streaming. This unit seems to have a lot going for it, and in the upper part of my price range, it makes some sense to go for a flagship unit as opposed to mid/entry level servers and dacs.

A one box solution obv saves cash on second pwr cord, USB server to dac, second isolation platform.

It's Roon certified, good for Tidal and Qobuz.

Runs a Sabre dac, not R2R, and facility for fibre optic cable.

Reviews praise it for a naturally warm, dense, authoritative, analog type sound.

Any, all comments, appreciated.

I have had the Lumin S1 for at least two years, and love it, and I will be buying the X1 late this month. Never did any streaming with the S1, and most likely won’t with the X1. I either rip a CD, or download files from HDTracks. This is a high end player, and should be fed the best files available.

I have been using the X1 for a while. It replaced the PS Audio Direct Stream with Snowmass and must say it sound better. I am also using similarly priced SW1X Dac 3 Signature tube DAC, also very good but I invited 3 friends last weekend - and while one of them really liked the SW1X, all 3 said would buy the X1 over the other.

as good as the Sr with Snowmass, I felt that the X1 has better detail and separation of instruments while remaining musical. The soundstage is bigger and more three dimensional .

I had the Lumin S1 and recently replaced it with the X1. The X1 has a fuller musical presentation than the S1. It remains very transparent with very good detail and excellent bottom end. And, like other Lumins, it is well made, looks great, extremely easy to setup and use. Lastly, Lumin has outstanding customer service - e.g.: support for MQA, Tidal and Qobuz added at no cost to customers.

Thanks for the feedback.....which one of them is smoother and more relaxing to listen to over long periods of time.......

I had the Lumin A-1 and now have the X-1. First off the app is incredibly easy to use. Second, I was able to sell my Emm Lab DAC because it became not needed for added sound performance. The X-1 allowed me to enjoy music more than ever. Versus the A-1, the X-1 is a major step up in sound quality. Instrumentation is pronounced. You will never get fatigued with the X-1. I will never buy another Streamer.

I have had the X1 for 6-8 months (based on my above post), and just love it. Been listening to it for the last three hours, and probably a couple more hours.

Good to know you are enjoying the X1 =] . You can switch off the services which you don't use to max the sound quality.

Services that can be turned off include Lumin Streaming (AirPlay by another name), Roon Ready, Spotify Connect, Multi-Room, Invert Phase, and Analog Audio Re-Sampling.

I have extensive comments on the Lumin X1 at this thread.

Well, I didn’t post that, but these are the On/Off options.
