I am reluctantly selling my Krell KBL. And I say reluctantly because this was the finest preamp I have owned until I bought the KRC-HR. As anyone who has followed WBF for awhile, you know that I purchased the KBL as a working preamp and when it arrived it had issues. I sent it back to Krell to be repaired and have the caps replaced. I received it back in October of 2011, so this is a fresh repair/recap. I have owned lots of preamps over the years and the KBL beat all of them except for the KRC-HR. This is simply a great sounding preamp. It's quiet, it's Class A, it has an outboard power supply that would power a 60 watt amp, and the output impedance is so low (.5 ohm) that it will drive any amp on the planet either tube or SS.
The KBL works perfectly and I have a brand new box and packing materials from Krell as well as the owner's manual. I'm asking $1500. You may find some cheaper, but I doubt you will find one that has been back to Krell within the last year and been gone through, had a cap job, and brought back to spec. Trust me, that is worth money. You could spend far more money and end up with a far less capable and great sounding preamp. The KBL is the real deal.
