They can blame his death on cancer and broken bones, but I think he died from a broken heart.

As Lavar Arrington proved there was no higher goal for a high school linebacker than to go to Penn State. Joe pa claims he did not know what to do. He wished he had done more. Alas he could have not only turned it over to his superiors but once he knew they had done nothing nothing he could have turnned it over to some one who did. The good he has done will never be erased. The program made money and made men great. ultimately the cocnclusion has to be that that the program was deemd by some to be more important than saving the kids. Joe Pa took the answer to that question to his grave.

The good news out of this is that Joe Pa won't have to go through any of the intense questioning that would have eventually happened. That would have killed him if cancer had not.

Undoubtedly the civil suits would have involved deposition that have almost no rules against invading privacy.
