Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Thank you for sharing this interesting report! It clearly illustrates how the effect of footers can vary significantly across systems. I understand how the Ansuz T2 can sound staccato, dry, or edgy in some setups; however, in my system, they do not exhibit those qualities. However, they are, by a considerable margin, the most crisp and precise model among all the Darkz footers I have tried.

It's worth noting that most of their other models, especially those in the latest lineup, tend to sound fuller, richer, and more relaxed. The T3W may be a better choice when the T2 sounds too harsh or edgy.

In my system, the HRS Nimbus and Vortex footers provide a different sonic balance to the Darkz: smooth, free-flowing, and friendly. I preferred the Vortex footers over the Nimbus for their increased incisiveness and expression. I don't find them harsh or edgy at all, but as always, YMMV. In any case, I'll be interested in reading the results!

I haven't had the chance to hear the HiFiStay racks or Absolute Points yet, but I'm definitely interested in trying them.
Suggest Ansuz Sortz C3 or T3 on Taiko router along with Absolute Point..

I have quite a bit of experience with concrete platforms/shelving. I have formed and poured far too many, painstaking process in which you have to work vey quickly as you use fast acting mix. I have since moved on, all though I still use one under a wood platform for my turntable on custom brackets. Same concept and applications as making concrete countertops. How you decouple whether its concrete, slate, marble, or granite is the critical part. I found sorbothane worked well between the brackets and bottom of the concrete on steel. On a solid surface cork seemed to work well for me in my unique shelving system. Being able to suspend from 6" thick log walls creates a different dynamic...

On which router inputs/outputs do you use the Sortz?

As an aside -
Trying Corion (half inch) cut to your need is a very good alternative to many other offerings from a cost and practical standpoint - Especially if your support top/shelf is glass.
Try on your existing support or put directly on flat surface..
Top and bottom must be polished.

The red banner has disappeared; however, some albums play instantly, but others take about 30 seconds to start playing. This just happened to me with the Yuja Wang/Gustavo Dudamel Rachmaninoff Piano Concerto (and it wasn't the only one).

A new Roon update just came out and I installed it. I played Yuja Wng's album again and it was instant.

Everyone at Taiko is working extremely hard to complete the current backlog. It wouldn’t be fair to those still waiting for their orders if development efforts shifted toward new products right now. Once the black queue is completed next month, development work is expected to pick up significantly.
Hopefully we can hear the Taiko analog board v2 during the Vienna high end show in June.

I enjoyed the review, Christiaan. Coincidentally, right after I read it I found used Signature Sortz (2 RCA, 1 LAN) and a TC3 Sparkz at good prices. Unfortunately, so far, I've found them to have marginal impact. It might change over time.
Hi Joet, I'm not sure they have a "bedding in" effect over time, but I found them to work right away in my system. So, it appears that the effectiveness of Sortz and Sparkz may vary significantly from component to component and from system to system. If they don't do much now, then they may not be effective in your system.

Ok. I'll try the RCAs in different places. Otherwise, I'll try to sell the lot.

Black coated:
All remaining black coated orders are expected to be completed by the end of November, including recently placed ones from the past couple of months. Taiko has already emailed a schedule for these, and production remains on track to meet that timeline. Once those are completed, black coated units will be in stock.

Black anodized:
There are only a few remaining black anodized orders, which are currently with the anodizer awaiting placement in their production schedule.

Silver anodized:
Silver anodizing continues to be unpredictable and challenging. The queue isn’t very large, but these clients have been waiting the longest. I plan to create a dedicated email group for all remaining clients and dealers with outstanding silver orders to provide full transparency into the queue and what’s happening behind the scenes. I will set this up next week.
Hi Vassil,

Do you have an update on the networking components? I placed my order for the Router, Switch and DCD, in Black, with my dealer, Scott Walker Audio Texas, on May 11th. As of last week, they have not received any update from the Taiko factory. I never thought that there could be this much of a delay in networking gear...so disappointing. Thank you.

Hi @BobK,

I completely understand your frustration. Right now, all of our products are in very high demand, while our production capacity remains limited due to the sheer amount of work that goes into manufacturing them.

Although strong demand is often considered a “good problem,” we at Taiko don’t see it that way anymore. From the beginning, our mission has been to go out of our way to ensure happy customers, and we recognize that this goal is incompatible with long lead times. We’ve admittedly maneuvered ourselves into a challenging position by designing such complex products. For our networking gear specifically, this is largely due to machining the chassis from pure copper.

Looking ahead, we’re exploring the idea of splitting our offerings into two product lines, an “Economy Line” and a “Luxury Line.”

The Economy Line will be designed for scalable production, without copper chassis, allowing for easier manufacturing, lower costs, and the ability to maintain some stock.

The Luxury Line will remain exclusive and complex, with a small but likely noticeable price increase to reflect its handcrafted nature.

Current status of networking gear:
We’re making good progress clearing the backlog. Assuming no machine failures or staff absences, all chassis for current orders should finish machining within 2.5 weeks. After that, they’ll move to sanding, polishing, and finishing.

We’ve recently hired two new team members to boost capacity, and small batches are already returning from our external finishing partners. We’re confident that we’ll have the entire backlog (up to one week ago) cleared before Christmas, and we’re doing everything possible to expedite the process further.

Finally, I checked our system and saw that communication on this subject was sent to Josh about 12 days ago. We’ll follow up to understand what went wrong there, thank you for bringing this to our attention.

Not feeling the names "Economy Line" and Luxury Line" at all. Sounds diminished and cheap.

How about "Taiko Basic" and "Taiko Reference" ........

I like “Taiko Reference” but prefer “Taiko Value” instead of “Basic”.

...personally, I would leave out any references to cost, value, etc. to avoid consumer confusion and attack language from the anti-expensive mafia over pricing. One man's value is another man's mortgage payment.

---Taiko Switch, Taiko Router, Taiko XYZ Product.
---Taiko Reference Switch, Taiko Reference Router, Taiko Reference XYZ Product.

I find these things can get confusing at times. Signature is better than Reference, is it?
