Introducing Olympus & Olympus I/O - A new perspective on modern music playback

Ever since switching from USB out to XDMI out on the I/O, I've been experiencing random playback stoppages around two times a day. With a message that says "Roon lost control of the audio device". I remember seeing something about this happening to others here several months ago. But nothing recently.
Is anyone else still experiencing this? If so, is there a fix?
I think I was the original whiner on this one. For me, the problem disappeared without my taking any action. I am presently in break-in and evaluation mode for the MSB module. I am running my Roon full time , 24/7 (except when I shut down to switch modules) with no interruptions here.

I am having the same issue. Running DAC module 24/7 and music stopping frequently. It also happened a few times that after the music stopped, hitting the play button Roon starts playing music, but there is no sound coming out of the Olympus. Only solution, in these cases was to restart the Olympus.

I ran the O & I/O using USB out for the first several weeks without a single stoppage. Once I switched to XDMI out about six weeks ago, the stoppages started happening about twice a day. So, it seems to be XDMI related.

Exactly the same behavior here. No I/O only Olympus.

I am only using XDMI via Taiko digital board on a daily basis and have never experienced this issue

Are any of the new built units Black ones? I am #78 and you went #77 to #82. I thought you had Black units coming in this past Monday? Did they not arrive? Did they arrive and there was an issue again with them?

For context:
Under construction: 66, 67, 69, 74, 75, 76, 77, 82, 84, 85, 86, 87

78, 80, and 81 are Black Olympus with I/O and they were not listed by Emile because the black I/O chassis were not received at the time of his post. I heard there are quite a few I/O chassis arriving soon, and so these 3 numbers will go into assembly soon.

I had a quick catch-up with the Taiko team yesterday, and things are looking very positive. Many chassis are now coming back from the three anodizers, and the progress is promising. I expect that within the next month or so, the bottleneck will shift from the anodizing companies to the assembly line. With some new hires in assembly at Taiko, that will be a great transition to witness.

We are also working on streamlining access to order information for me. There are some minor challenges, but we are actively addressing them. Once all sorted, I’d like to start sending regular email updates to those still waiting for an Olympus.

Could these possibly be related to battery charge transition times? just a guess if it's a couple times a day. might vary according to when battery is set to charge or not charge... I don't have mine yet so just conjecture (#102)

Nope.

...it happens here too. Olympus only. Anecdotally, it seems as if notifications may be involved in the stoppage. I tried turning off as much as possible, but I do occasionally receive the "...lost control..." message. Although at times it will stream 24/7 for days.

No.

Would that information via email be for all buyers waiting to receive their Olympus or only for those in the USA?

Yes, I did it, a couple of times with no response.
Please send me a Private Message with the ticket number, and I will check.

Same thing here. It's happened once each day, over the last days. The exact same as you describe, only option is to reboot the Olympus. I am running the O and I/O with the XDMI analog out of the I/O.

Hmm - that’s seven XDMI users by my count, all reporting similar issues, albeit seemingly with different degrees of severity.

Any others? Hopefully everyone affected has engaged with Taiko so that the root issue can be isolated and addressed, as soon as possible, for all.
