Good morning. I get so much enjoyment and stimulation from this forum. If not for the wealth of information then for the crazy banter when debates become heated. Some of my favorite people (not in any particular order) are Lloyd for his unassuming, classy, always helpful and polite posts. SpiritofMusic for his honesty and willingness to put himself ‘out there’. Mikel for his relentless pursuit and his practical approach to all things. Bonzo for his unique reviews and trustworthy advice. Northstar for keeping things sane (Nice photos too). Tango for his sense of humor. Woof&Tweet for his great comics which imo makes this site so unique and special. BigDogRJ for his appreciation for what he’s got, and of course all the little people too.

For me, I have just got back into the fun after living in temporary housing for nearly a year due to very bad timing with the sale of a home in San Diego, a new job, and the purchase of a new home in Westchester County, NY. I should have my long time Berning Quadrature amps delivered by the beginning of Nov. and will be looking to build my new system over the course of the following weeks, as time permits.

Welcome. By "putting himself out there" do you mean "Bending over"

what speakers are you running with the Berning?

I am thinking of myself more of a trustworthy advise. And Bonzo more of a joke :p.

Welcome to WBF where you have to be so careful in choice of words you choose to say and even when you talk about yourself, someone will make criticism of that somehow.

Welcome, from someone who doesn't choose words but does keep his head down!

If you ever find yourself wanting to brave the wilds of Brooklyn let me know!

Welcome to WBF, Number9!

Please let us know your thought process regarding acquiring components as your new system evolves! Those Berning Quadrature Zs are terrific!

Thanks for the welcome.....all true to form.
I plan to post my previous speakers/system in a separate thread that will hopefully morph into the new.

Indeed welcome to WBF

Your username reminded me of an old English weekly series called the Prisoner played by Patrick McGoohan....After resigning, a secret agent is abducted and taken to what looks like an idyllic village, but is really a bizarre prison. His warders demand information. He gives them nothing, but only tries to escape. He was called Number 9 and as they brain washed him they kept asking ""Who's Number 1 and he never told them

So if you're Number 9 , who's number 1? :)

Wasn’t he #6? Always wanted to retire but noone would permit it. Sent to a bizzaro world where numbers mattered.

Any opinion on the new Doctor Who replacement?

I have none because I have not watched a single episode. There is just so much time and so many great series and documentaries to watch. It has been on my list for a few years now.

She is a complete change and I wasn't sure initially but she has all the quirky, but distinct, originality of her predecessors and IMHO a worthy successor

I’m still trying to get used to the change. I have only been able to watch the first two episodes but I am inclined to agree. I have seen every episode since the series began.

Number9, welcome. Re being "trustworthy" yes, Ked is very worthy indeed. And I trust every word he writes, esp on Zu.

When you say you've seen every episode of Dr Who since the beginning, you mean from 1963 and William Hartnell? That IS impressive, but gives away your age LOL.

Nice reminder of The Prisoner. I was a big fan, so much so that I bought a replica of his car. Great fun but a bit snug around the hips these days!

Yep Mark, "I am not a number, I am a slightly wide man".

Hello and please allow me to offer you a very warm welcome to the "What's Best Forum". Enjoy.

You remind me how insular it is so easy to become
We think of Dr Who as something that is so English that we forget its world wide appeal and the global success of the BBC. This forum is such a valuable antidote to such perceptions.
At the same time I am intrigued by your following of Dr Who. I presume it has long been broadcast on US terrestrial TV and has attracted a large audience over the years and that new series are broadcast at about the same time all over the world. Am I right?
I hope you are soon properly settled into your new home and able again to enjoy your system. I am as I write listening to Handel on BBC Radio 3 FM . Another jewel in the BBC crown
