Imho theres very little worth reading in hifi magazines. A notable exception is hifi world’s classic collection. And i have read it 100 times or more.
I particularly like their descriptions of the righteous turntables: garrard, lenco, td124, sp10. And the classic brit amps: leak, radford, quad. 3-5 lines. Short, sharp and spot-on. No going harry pearson here.
There are mistakes in there:
Speakers:
they like the westminsters and they are dogs — as ive said repeatedly. They should have the classic tannoys in there instead: red-gold-hpc.
Theres also a lot of good american stuff missing: klipsch, altec, etc.
And im sure also good japanese stuff is missing.
Pick-ups:
There arent any. So spu, denon dl 103, the robust shures: m3d, sc35c are missing.
Cd players:
Philips cd 100 and marantz 94 are missing. Teac vrds is overrated.
Other than that: if you want to know about hifi. Start here.
And if not in this list be weary about buying it.
