Hello,

The Goldnote Favard is simple the best CD/DAC I ever heard. In Germany it is very difficult to hear MSB or Stahl Tek or other American High End DAcs. You can hear for example the Calyx Femto or the Meitner (its from the US I know) oder the Accuphase 900/901.

None of them has the musicality of the Goldnote. I am not talking about Resolution. In my Opinium this has nothing to do with the real world. This is Hifi. I am talking about the way how this DAC reproduce for eample a Saxophon or a Steinway or....

This very close to them i heard through my VDH Colibri Platin and very close to the reality I hear from the Saxophone from my children. Of course if the recording is good.

Interesting architecture... battery... tube....

What is the rest of your system/room?

Mod. Sonic Frontier Line 3
Mod. Threshold SA4/e
Pioneer P10 Turntable with VDH Colibri Platin
special designed PrePre for the Platin (a VDH Colibri Platin does not work with Transformers)
Blacknote CDP 500 (It is a least the same as the Farvard but without Battery) as CD Player
Hajdinjak Labs SE Phono
Prototype of a Italian Loudspeaker (2,15 m high). Sounds very similar to a Wilson Alexandria XLF from a Friend of me.
Room is about 85 squaremeter

A lot of Tubegear. The Sound is not Analytik, more on the warm side. I thinking to change my Threshold against a Tube Power Amp but maybe it gets too warm.
