That speaker is $145kAUD in my neck! Their smaller active speakers are dynamic as hell and punchy, and have an overall neutral tonal balance. They would make awesome high end HT speakers.

Bob (Rhapsody) is a dealer for this in NY. Pietro has this in Milan, you can go there, listen to this, the old Apologue, and the Yamamura.

I have sold several pair of Satya, but the owners are not forum members. I use a pair everyday for both HT and music.

Thanks, it is nice to know. Can users fine tune these speakers to their room?

It depends on the Goldmund preamp/processor that is used. If any of the Goldmund active speaker models, including the Satya, is used with one of the Goldmund processors which run the Goldmund "configurator", then you can decrease bass, treble and high frequencies separately. You cannot boost the signal.

There are also many dsps in each Satya or any of the Goldmund active speakers that analayze and correct the input signal with regard to phase, time and amplitude.

There is not active room correction using microphones etc. We use a noise generator pink noise cd and frequency analayzer to set up a room and then use the Goldmund configurator to adust the system to the user's preferences if necessary.

With 2 channel I rarely use the configurator. When we do complete home theater rooms with sometimes up to 50 drivers with each driver being driven by it's own dac and amplifier then a custom room configuration is mandatory.

Goldmund has sw (Leonardo) that after a room is laser and frequency measured, a custom configuration is generated and that configuration sw runs in the Goldmund processor. This configuration can be adjusted again to the user's listening preferences.

This configuration can be carried by the user or just by the installer? Can users get the Leonardo software?

It depends on the relationship with the user and Goldmund. Normally the Goldmund folks install the configurator, but in cases where the user is very proficient, then sometimes they use the configurator, but only again if they have a relationship with either their local Goldmund rep/distributor or the tech people at Goldmund.

I should add that if someone buys a used pair of Goldmund Satya and just calls up Goldmund and asks for the Leonardo sw and access to the Goldmund configurator the answer would be that it is not available for customer's use.

OK, I see - the decision of supplying or not the configurator is taken by the rep/distributor. When people buy the speakers they are not buying the configuration software. It is very different from the situation of Devialet users - any Devialet owner can register at their site and freely use their configurator software and upgrades, first or second owner.

Your second sentence asks for a question - can buyers of used Goldmund equipment register again with the factory or distributors?

There is not a standard procedure for purchasers of Goldmund pre-owned products to make the Goldmund configurator or SW available.

Any customer that buys a used Goldmund set of active speakers should contact their local Goldmund distributor to come up with a satisfactory support plan. This support would be billable and the cost would vary depending on the country in question.
