Set, the merciless god of darkness, has taken over the throne of Egypt and plunged the once peaceful and prosperous empire into chaos and conflict. Few dare to rebel against him. A young thief, whose love was taken captive by the god, seeks to dethrone and defeat Set with the aid of the powerful god Horus.
I've used the phrase "truly awful" about MANY things in my life. But those occasions did not even come close to meriting it as much as having watched this. So, I declare this "TRULY AWFUL!"
Alex Proyas, the genius who directed The Crow and Dark City, has been well and truly chewed up and spat out by Hollywood two decades on.
Oh, that looks cool, that looks CGI Hollywood, that sounds real noisy too; I've got to see this...I think.
''Dark City' ... a dark sci-fi, a good one. Alex Proyas with another sci-fi flick; 'Gods of Egypt'. ...The darkness returns, into the spotlight, under the mystery light of the pyramids of Egypt. ...Hollywood CGI style, with many many noise effects.
Yes Ron, there is only one 'The Crow' and it is the original one directed by Alex Proyas. ...And starring Brandon Lee (Bruce's son), who died during the filming.
It's also a dark film like 'Dark City'. 'Dark City' is a grand achievement, IMO.
That new one, 'Gods of Egypt', I don't have a single clue, but it doesn't appear as dark as the two others just enumerated, @ least on screen from that trailer.
And frankly, I don't know what Ultron is doing here. Maybe he's fighting the prince of darkness in Egypt? :b
And now Gerard Butler as Speedo-man! What were they thinking!
