Anyone with insights to this new Master 3 vs Master 1 ? What is better ? Looking to smoother presentation compared to Master 1. Cart is a Grandmaster but sadly not extreme. Thanks

just gone from ds003 with matching eq box to
The "semi flagship grand mater3 but with the W3 eq box

HOLY COW!

MASSIVE room filling soundstage so much faster, more dynamic, deeper bass with more control, more of every aspect of sound than before, my wide slab fronted Atc's aren't known for imaging, per say
The sound was between the speakers precisely
Now it's full width of the whole room.
I'm absolutely staggered, as was my installing dealer
Sme model 15 with series 5 arm
Music. Has never sounded, better for me

also went from 003 ro W3 package, the EQ is the aize of an amplifier, it was a good step better than the 003, whish I could get the Master EX

So I went with w3 box and grand master 3 .
Square diamond cantilever bonded tip
Truly flabbergasted, soundstage huge, bass so deep, textured but in control.
My dealer thinks it sounds like a master tape

I would also like to try the Ex one day how much better could it be?

Check out hifi news recent magazine review by Ken , he's done all the ds reviews over the past few years
He believes the master 3 is the sweet spot of the range sound and value wise

Grand master ex one day

I recently changed from the not too shabby Ortofon MC Diamond with a Moon 610LP phono stage to the DS Audio master 3 and Master 3 equalizer. Good Lord! I fee like I upgraded my Magicos from M2s to M6s! Everything that has been said in this thread I enthusiastically agree with. Detailed top to bottom, full, 3D, wide, silky, round, quiet…..just a different world. So lifelike.

What's your turntable and arm?

I got the W3 PU, but still saving for the better EQ. Still some improvements over the DS01, but expecting huge improvements with a better EQ. What do you think about Meitner and EMM Labs EQs?

The Knife, cool name, one of my favorite bands now Fever Ray. I had the Meitner EQ2 in my system to try against the 03 EQ, I found that it did not like it as much as the 03EQ, maybe a little more detailed but not as full in the bass. I also felt the case work was not as substantial as the 03 one. Just my opinion my system.

I have never tried those two. Obviously two excellent brands. The DS Audio equalizer is fantastic. It’s very simple yet offers flexibility around bass output. I am very impressed

Thanks! The Knife is a stellar band from Sweden. Some really good tracks! Interesting to hear that you prefer DS Audio to the Meitner. Hopefully I will have the chance to evaluate them side by side.
