* Did you watch a film last night (on Blu or DVD), and what was it? *

perhaps a soooo bad it's good flick; respectfully pays homage to Duel ... some scenes are pretty decent but the story line / Steve Zahn character are annoying beyond description. With the late Paul Walker sharing the lead. Good for mid/older teens.

Bought it when it was released on Blu-ray, but I didn't have a player at the time. Then I forgot about it! Haha! Came across it yesterday afternoon and watched it last night. I really enjoyed it.

I liked the unique camera work and overall cinematography. I also appreciated the more realistic space scenario's, esp some tethered scenes. Other similar scenes were just wrong, and the story line was a push. Sandra still looks good tho ...

I like 'Gravity' best for the music score (@ IMAX 3D theater), then for the 3D picture quality @ home on my plasma TV.

And then the sound is good @ home too (@ reference THX master level) from the core Dolby TrueHD 7.1 audio soundtrack (Dolby Atmos encoding) on the 'Diamond Luxe Edition' (2D only). ...And one of the nicest packages ever, as a bonus.

Enrapturing, invigorating, captivating, passionately beautiful...all; music, vistas, acting, all that painting jazz. ...On Blu of course.

My overall rating score: 89.5
'Guardians of the Galaxy' it ain't; a smooth walk in the park around the gardens...a verisimilitude...sort of. ...I recommend, very.

I knew the story line was gonna be a little less than realistic, but it's Hollywood and I expect it. She's looking better all the time.....

I might watch that on Shaw On Demand tonight. It caught my eye a few days ago.

Most likely everyone have already saw it, it's ok, a revisit was doctor's order, and it felt good all over again.
? Overall: 88.0

like any art form; wes anderson is a required taste ... a little too bland for my palette.

currently watching ...

I own it, he was the king and Deans celebrity roasts are unmatched. The new roasts are just about seeing who can be the grossest/raunchiest, they don't hold a candle.

Just poured a bourbon in Deans honor and watched this.

It's a science-fiction flick, not like 'Gravity' and not like 'Interstellar' and not like 'Jupiter Ascending'. ...But like itself...very unique...a cinema art form...a fatal attraction...a dreamscape type of intervention somewhere by someone interacting with humans.

Overall: 79.5 (my own rating).

worth revisiting on blu-ray...

Near Dark, 1987 dir.Kathryn Bigelow (hurt locker, zero dark thirty).

w/Tangerine Dream soundtrack; note: actors Lance Henriksen, Bill Paxton ("game over man") and Jenette Goldstein appeared in x-husband's James Cameron's Aliens (1986).

I revisited this last night (1974) ::

It's about the Internet, Skype, iPhone, and all that jazz. ...But back in 1974, with the technology available @ that time.
Overall: 82.0

all these years, and I don't ever recall seeing that movie, even on tv. 1974 was a busy year in movies. the last movie I watched on tv (with commercials) was 1976 marathon man; the dentist scene still freaks me out.
