dCS Rossini DAC & Rossini Clock Review

Howie, I haven't heard the dCS in my home (any model) so I can't make a fair comparison. The NADAC fed by HQPlayer is very good. My guess is that is very neutral and that the dCS Rossini may have more body, but without having both in my system I couldn't know for sure.

Thanks and I understand your point. I have an MSB and love it for it's "body" and incredibly smooth presentation. I am really interested in the NADAC now that I have "unfortunately" been exposed to HQPlayer and it's incredible abilities with DACs such as the NADAC, etc. Not that I am ready to get rid of my ladder DAC but know that a DAC such as NADAC must be amazing with HQPlayer uspampling to 256DSD. Maybe the answer are two DACS.

I must admit, although I take reviews with a "grain of salt" they do sometimes have pearls in them about usability etc
As Andrew S said in Oz there aren't the hi end shops
Reviews and sites like this do help you
My interest in the review was peaked when he referred to the Rossini in the Emm Labs Dac2x review as being " better in everyway" The problem was I didn't really glean anything form the review much, and he didn't even refer back to his comparison with the Dac2x
And I must admit I had to look elsewhere to work out what sort of a device the Rossini really was
Finally, the two things that really puzzled me were, why if the clock makes such a difference didn't they just put it in the machine in the first place closer to the Das; and second how can non OXCO be better ?
Any thoughts
Agree and someone just told me to STFU.

I posted here to relay my feelings about a review that was not very in depth or revealing about a DAC I have an interest in; as well as how it compares to those with other DACs I am interested in such as the DA2 and NADAC.

Some people replied with nicities, wisdom and experience to better explain the experience of the Rossini which is greatly appreciated. Unfortunately Harlequin felt differently.

Well that was my concern with that review and his reviews overall. Never much substance for someone who is really interested. On the short list of DACs I am interested in, the Rossini being one of them and having owned a DAC2x, I would have like more from a "reviewer" who does this for a living. Hence my original criticism of "the review" as in OP as I didn't consider it much of a review.

The next edition of Hifi Critic will have a review of the Rossini, I imagine by Martin Colloms.
Their reviews are invariably of high quality.
