They announced a little box that would be cool for use for optimization of up to four subs:

Each sub can have in addition of running Dirac, the ability to add filtering. This means you can feed it mains and it can roll them off for the subs.

Cheap and small too.

I don't know how minDSP fits into the "Best" universe, but I'm pleased with what I've gotten from them.

They are a clever innovative company with good pricing. Certainly fits into the overall universe of what is best.

I love their stuff, I just wish they had "premium" versions available for those who want it and are willing to spend the extra coin.

I was just thinking about how to say the same sort of thing.

My unit is digital in/out via Optical or Coax.

Everything is converted to 48/24.

The DSP has 6144 taps.

AcourateDRC finds a place in it for the FIR and 14 IIR filters on each channel.

My room/seat has a hump at 30 and a dump at 50. Here's an example of its handiwork, coming out of the formerly ruler-flat preamp (left):

It's cool what the stuff does, it's just not what I consider high end. If you want the ultimate in chip based DSP, look no further than these guys:

If you want the best there is, you need to use Intel processors.

Have you tried their PC based software? 24/192 support, and you don't have to put any hardware in the signal path. Connect to your DAC via USB.

We occupy different but possibly intersecting planes of the multiverse. I still like shiny frisbees.

24/192 support? What about the other 173 days?

Ha ha, yeah you will have to start playing frisbee, and step into PC based computing to take advantage of this. If you like redbook, Tidal has over 40 million songs now and growing daily, for $20 a month. Very hard to beat! Then you could run them all through the dirac without any noisy, jitter causing hardware in the path. It's not demanding of CPU power, so cheap computer will work fine.

I tried Tidal.

The quality was good. At the time the playback was not gapless, and the player would revert from my Optical Out to the PC speakers any time the selection was less than 44/16, which for what I selected at the time, was too often.

I found the portfolio to be fairly wide, but not very deep. I typically already had more than what they did in my areas of interest.

Then I read about who owns (most of) it, and checked his work:

Pick one... Any one... http://www.azlyrics.com/j/jayz.html

I chose not to put my money in his pockets in such a direct manner after perusing that for a moment.

So, $20 spent, it was ok, not for me. Not from them.

Yeah, they have gone from 20 million tracks to over 40 million in a matter of a few months. Give it a couple years will probably have over 200 million.

No doubt about the lyrics, however, this is the future of music delivery. Unfortunately they are by far the best with best quality and selection so far. Apple music would probably be good if they supported lossless. However that's not what the masses demand, so they won't offer it.

That's the type of lyrics you need to teach the kids these days if you want to have a net worth of $520 million one day:

Let's see them make $520m off of streaming royalties.

$520,000,000 / $0.007 = 74,285,714,285 plays

Anyway, this thread is for miniDSP.
