my journey with Burmester is long, started with 956, than a pair of 956, 911, than dual 911, 216, 218 than dual 218, dual 909 and now the pinnacle, the 159, they are all great and each level up you get more of the same but with the 159 its really next level, the adjustable damping is killer among everything else this amp does, bass is tight, no muddiness at all, smooth and quick, tightened up the mid bass/midrange and the highs are silky smooth, resolution like no other, once you at this level you think it couldn't get any better, when I had dual 218s that was my impression, than I did the dual 909s and thought my speaker couldn't sound any better, well I was pleasantly surprised and happy to be wrong for once, the 159 really is end game

Its great to know what you like and then able to follow it through its generations of flagship pieces!

The best I listened from Burmester was in a complete Burmester system, including speakers - it was musical, but extremely coherent. Can we know why you are not using their speakers?

we designed our speakers around burmester electronics and IMO better

My apologies, I could not see you are a manufacturer/dealer. It is just at the bottom of an hidden signature. I really admire Burmester since long.
the burmester speakers, the bc150 and bc350 are clearly world class IMO

I have the 808 pre- which I like very much. How do you think it differs from the 077?

the 808 is more lush sounding imo, reminds me of a very fine hybrid, the 077 imo has better resolution and dynamics

about 150hrs on them and they only get better, the adjustable damping is a game changer, the upper end is so smooth and silty, no harshness at any volume, images like a dream and the bass hits smooth like a hammer in the chest

I would love to hear those amps. I visited your website a few times, by the way, and if I’m ever in Memphis, I’m going to drop in on you. Very impressive stuff, and your speakers look great
