I think, the 12.1 gives more stability and naturalness with less nervousness.
And the Etna (mostly as Lambda SL) gives more naturalness and organic flow than the Atlas, that is more on attack and drive.
In my opinion are the tonearm and cartridges more different and are more responsible to the difference that you have heard.
If you really want to hear what the differences between the two tables are, you have to take really the same tonearm/cartridge setup. And then maybe it will be difficult to hear any relevant difference.
Or at least you have to interchange the tonearm/cartridge combination between the two tables in a second listening session and compare them once again. Maybe the sonic differences changes and are „sticked“ to the tonearm/cartridge.
