Bitcoin

Quantum computing potentially is an existential threat to the integrity of the Bitcoin blockchain. Are you actually going to disagree with this statement?

It is a potential threat. We don't have any reason to believe security won't simply be quantum to match quantum processing. But a big question would be why would someone want to use it? It wouldn't go unnoticed and it would devalue the whole thing were you got do any block manipulation. The only chance you have is at finding dead wallets that really have no owners and guessing their private key.

Ironically though we are moving away from quantum and all money is being put into bandwidth; which is how AI works.

According to CMC it launched on 1/17. ATH was on 1/19 where it topped out at nearly $75. On inauguration day it was already down under $60 and beyond a dead cat bounce on 1/21, it has been downhill ever since. Currently under $8 and unlikely to come back.

So I guess the insanely good buy period was limited to those first two days? And required selling at or near the top? Not sure I call that an insanely good buy. More like a pump and dump.

You're correct, it was a short window. That is the life of many meme coins. There were guys that were not insiders that made tens of millions off of it in that time span. Buy shit loads, ride it up, sell before inauguration takes place, pile it all into shorting it. Buy the rumor, sells the news.

If you guys are interested in this stuff, just ask an AI such as Grok. Any decent one will give you very solid answers on this topic.

I wouldn't focus too much on BTC here. If encryption becomes quantum hackable, the entire financial system and the internet will be compromised.

Always makes me smile when people focus purely on BTC for this subject.

That seems to get missed, does it not? And funny enough basic use of quantum would get blocked by something as simple as "too many attempts were made" on countless platforms. The speed to which you make guesses is only as useful as how many you can verify. The ways around that stuff could be used at a quantum level but the amount of stabilization you want left in the world is a consideration.

News headlines overseas suggest crypto could be in for a rough week. Its volatility is more commodity-like than currency-like. BTC’ 9% drop on Friday reminds us of this.

And with this 9% drop it’s still up 77% over the past year. What a horrible investment!

That’s not my point. My point is that if fans want crypto to replace fiat currencies (primarily the USD) crypto needs to demonstrate the same price stability.

I don’t think anyone believes that’s going to happen with BTC. That’s your reference point above.
