What about when it's freezing up there? It's a lot colder than NL!

Actually it is quite similar to NL and maybe even more pleasant than some coastal cities there during Winter.

I know a considerable number of Californian's who settled into a four year holding pattern around Malmo. Very trendy, they felt right at home. ;)

I am planning on going to Norway over the Summer. It's been a while since the last time. What places would you recommend visiting during a 2-week long road trip?
Jeg eslker Norge! My bride is from Norsk stock, and we have visited there many times. Here is a nice two week route that we happily drove once: The drive from E6 at Otta, through Lom, and over to the back end of the Sognefjord at Skjolden takes you through Jotunheimen National park, which is other-worldly from glacial sculpting. Then the Sognefjord is just exquisite (park your car and plan a day of ferry riding to take in the sites - - just spectacular!). You can also visit the Jostedalsbreen glacier area. Then over to Bergen, visit Griegsheim and enjoy the lovely city. Then drive up north to Trondheim by way of Geiranger Fjord, Trollstigen, eventually connecting to E39 which brings you to Trondheim ( a lovely city in its own right). E6 takes you back through the central valley to Oslo.

Now, if this is all "old hat" to you from previous visits, getting up to the Lofoten Islands is well worth it. Spectacular hiking and scenery, charming towns, but not so much a driving experience.

Plan on slower movement. With the two lane roads winding over hilly terrain, 70 kmh rules and 80 khm is screamin'! The entire drive is picturesque, indeed!

I and buddy were going to bikepack from Oslo to Bergen in the summer of 2020, but Covid knocked that off the list. Now my wife's health holds me at home for the moment, alas. I hope to get back for it while I still have enough vigor for the rigors!

My first trip out of country since Covid 19. Japan is always one of my destinations to go to. Today I'm in Kyoto. In the picture is an incredible temple called San Ju San Gendo. I went in to pray for god of sound to be on my side. :) The architecture is magnificent.

Japan is one of my favorite places too! Dear Tang, have you been to Koyasan? You have been to Japan many times but many people miss this beautiful place. If you have not been there, I recommend it.

Is it the temple up on the mountain in Wakayama? That one was also wonderful.
