I for one would love to try it. My son and I have a long range plan to try it, working our way there by hang gliding, then parachuting, then wing suit jumping.

Ron will follow a carefully-constructed progression of skydiving exposures that lead up to understanding how the wingsuit functions. Many guys are learning how to "body-sail" in a manner similar to the wingsuit while free-falling before deploying their standard chute. So, it's really not an unimaginable stretch to make it to the suited jumps. It's more a matter of finances (for repeated training jumps) and cajones (which Ron demonstrates daily by his appearance here).
I say go for it if you want, Ron. Everyone should have at least one "on the edge" type of experience in their life that can provide a contrasting perspective to the commonality of daily life.

At least on DirecTV, this coming Sunday (2/12), at 5:00 p.m. Pacific time, National Geographic Channel (channel 276), in High Def, there is airing a show entitled The Man Who Can Fly. The show's description is as follows: "Dean Potter, who set the record for the longest flight in a wing suit, trains to break his own record."

Osman's death occurred when he was doing free-fall cliff jumping, which is performed by tying into a harness and jumping off a cliff. You trust that the rope will catch you with its elastic properties. After a successful new world record jump of 1000 ft. from the Leaning Tower formation in Yosemite, Dan returned 3 weeks later to remove all his ropes and gear. However, he decided to take one last jump before disassembling everything. The rope broke and he was killed. It has been posited that the rope, being left to weather and blow in the wind, had abraded against the rock enough that it could no longer support him in the fall.

Incredible! The thing that pervents me from doing this isn't so much my fear of heights but my gear of dying.
