Just curious, Music Direct has em on sale now for $129...

I've been meaning to because they allow separate grounds. That's important for power conditioners I make. Sigh... one thing at a time!

I know this is an old thread, but i Just installed a 20 amp dedicated line for my system, and installed a Cardas 4181 outlet. I was completely amazed and satisfied with the overall result.I am running Sugden MPA-4 mono blocks, and have a Saturn Audio 103 Power conditioner. At any given time i have 119-120 volts coming out of the wall, 1 have a solid 124Volts coming out of the Saturn feeding all of my gear. I highly recommend this upgrade, the results were way bigger than i had anticipated.

Hilroy48, I am glad you replied. I have 5 of the Cardas outlets now. I recently moved into a new house. Used the "normal" AC outlets for about 3 months before I called an electrician and ran 5 dedicated lines. I am with you, it's amazing and totally satisfying the results. I have used other outlets besides Cardas, and they are my favorites...

All i can say, is i am glad that search is over. You can get lost in the plug game, same as fuses, i am staying with my SR orange fuses.

The power and ground connections on the rear of the outlet allow for separate circuits to be used. Each outlet can have 2 dedicated circuits on it. I have 4 20 amp dedicated circuits wired to two of these outlets in my system.

I use the Cardas 4181 wall receptacle for my dedicated lines. They sound very good (if not quite as good as the new Furutech NCF outlets at twice the price) and have a great grip hold on my bulky power cables.
My question is about what people are using for a plate cover over the outlet. They plug connectors are bigger than the Furutec plugs so Furutec plate covers won’t fit. Not sure if generic ones from Home Depot will fit either. Let me know what you are using. Thanks!

I had the Audience receptacle which I think is made by Cardas. I used some Home Depot plastic covers for awhile that seemed to fit fine. I thought I had used a Furutech cover as well but maybe not. I am surprised the Cardas would be anything but a standard size, though.

I have 6 of the Cardas 4181's. Luv em. I have metal plates from Home Depot that fit em, have to use a lil pressure and they snap in....

Thanks for the responses!

I also took this one step further, and am glad that i did. I opened up my Saturn 103C Power conditioner, it came with all #14 wag wire, and Hubble hospital grade outlets. I proceeded to buy a length of power cord with Oxygen free copper wire #10 AWG, and 6 more Cardas 4181 plugs. I replaced all the wire inside with the #10 and the new plugs, i was amazed at what that provided.
