In my living room, my audio gear (everything but my speakers) is in a cabinet which is directly in front of a glass pane window. I’m considering applying a sun filter to address any harmful effects from the sun.
Do I need to block UV light, heat, or both? Any help is appreciated thanks

I doubt if sunlight will hurt your gear. At least as long as the temperature doesn’t go above 100 degrees. Maybe after 10-20 years the paint might fade.
