Lol..I have bought so many CDs based on performances I have seen on his show via Palladia HD.

Polica, alt-J, Everything Everything...too many to mention!!

There is noting like it here in the US. Just garbage like The Voice and American Idol.

the knife - shaking the habitual tree 3LP + 2CD - not a easy listen at first
james blake - overgrown 2LP

Wow! Jools Hollands episode tonight featured Laura Marling and Rokia Traore!

What a shame we have nothing like this show being produced in the USA...just
rubbish like American Idol and The Voice.

We have those.

The National's "Trouble Will Find Me" is excellent. A little more laid back than "High Violet". Well recorded vinyl is a bonus. An early contender for 2013 top 10 lists.

Totally down with the new Trixie album, a couple of great cuts on the first side, the second side is very, very strong. Got the vinyl (of course). We are going to try to catch her tomorrow night in the Village.
Ever hear Tom Odell? There's a cut on his EP that reminds me a little of Stevie Wonder's Fullfillingness album, something about 'Can't Pretend." Unfortunately, it wasn't released on vinyl in the States, but his forthcoming LP should be, and I think he reprises the song on the LP.

Bill don't miss her if you can make it!

Here is my review of the show Thursday night here in San Diego:

I'm going to post it as a new thread too..but check it out.

No, I don't know Tom Odell..but now I gotta explore!

Few more upcoming releases I'm looking forward to:

Sharon Jones "Give The People What They Want"

Heard today that she was recently diagnosed with Stage I Biliary carcinoma (hopefully incidental during a gallbladder removal) :(. Hope she recovers quickly...she is dynamite in concert!

Valerie June "Pushin' Against A Stone"

I think the James Hunter album has been out for a while. I bought the 96/24 download a while back.

I'm a big Sharon Jones fan. Will look for that one.

Dude, I am all over that Valerie June album....it is going to be big..

Really? Fain to me is pretty straightforward...a well intentioned slavish take on Tull an Traffic.

I would say something like Jane's Addiction's Escape Artist would be for the adventurous. Great album btw.
