Time to fess up. Who's busted a Cart?

Three carts busted in the last five years: Soundsmith Strain Gauge, Audio Technica AT 180 ML OCC, Scheu Analog MC Scheu S. All messed up by our beloved cat. She caught the Strain Gauge on last year's New Year's Eve...ouch. I keep my fingers crossed, this and next year won't happen the same.

That little brush scares the heck out of me!

No problems with that brush here, I've been using that kind of brush for years. And also an AT 637.

    What Cartridge(s) Is Everyone Using

Sorry Bob, I haven't been precise. Our cat didn't really eat the stylus (I thought writing "ate" was nicer than writing "fuxored"). She just got her "funny five minutes", jumped over the turntable, then one of her claws glazed one of the tonearms - et voila.

    What Cartridge(s) Is Everyone Using

Haha, Bob. I'm just trying to cool down... I chose a Nonino Grappa Riserva 25th anniversary and some relaxing music (Air: The Virgin Suicides) instead of the crunchies.

    What Cartridge(s) Is Everyone Using

Our cat just ate the stylus of my Sondsmith Strain Gauge. I"m actually thinking about going to the kitchen and eat her Whiskas crunchies.... grrr... I'm glad the Jan Allaerts is still ok.

I found the ULTIMATE listening chair!

The Montis Lounge chair is very comfortable, though not beautiful: Currently I'm sitting on a De Sede DS-5 in our listening room...relaxed... ;)

    Hello from Hamburg, Germany

Thanks for the friendly welcome. :) Dear lloydelee21, I'm using the Gryphon Canata two-way monitors, other Gryphon speakers won't fit into my small listening room. ;) The Cantatas are almost in nearfield distance. I love the transparent, though coherent sound of the Cantatas and their...

    Hello from Hamburg, Germany

Hello everyone, I just thought I'd say "Hello" as I'm new here. My name is Matthias aka Blam!. I made my first steps in HiFi 30 years ago (Thorens turntable, Yamaha preamp / amp and Yamaha speakers. 5 years later to be followed by a complete Linn setup, which lasted for about 20 years)...

    What Cartridge(s) Is Everyone Using

Dear Myles, This is definitely a good idea. :) At first , the Soundsmith cartridge sounds very ... different, but you will love it: Very broadband, very detailed and yet coherent. Dear treitz3, afaik, the lights haven't any reason besides the cool factor (and you can even turn them off. :D)

Anyone familiar with TW Acustic or Basis, or compare the two?

Dear Thomas/syntax, I'd like to know what you think about solong's setup, who uses a modified TW Raven AC. If I remember correctly solong has bought your former Brakemeier Prometheus speakers and you should know his setup very well. Some times ago I listened to your former Basis turtable...
