Horning Agalme Hybrid vs Tannoy Westminster Roayal

Personally, I love the tweeter Tommy came up with. Is it the most extended and exciting no and that is precisely why I love it. It just opens seamlessly and adds the natural frequency extension the music requires. I have tried many super tweeters with various Hornings over the years and some...

Horning Agalme Hybrid vs Tannoy Westminster Roayal

I thought I should chime in on this since I/High Water Sound am and have been for over 20 years the Horning Hybrid importer and distributor in the US. The Agalme you are referring to and showing pictures of is a previous model. The Agalme has had a significant reworking and or, update in the...

DaVa FC-A1 a field coil contender

Got it! I have a couple Glanz MH-1200S tonearms. They work perfectly for high compliance cartridges and seem to be a great match to the DAVA, Tzar SPU DST and my Ortofon SPU collection.

DaVa FC-A1 a field coil contender

As great as your Schroder is, I think it is the wrong choice for the DAVA. The DAVA is 26 grams so, I don't believe the Schroder's effective mass is high enough to compliment the DAVA. I would ask Frank his opinion.

I know it's tricky but, I think there is still a way.

Love it. Different wood and overall construction to mine. Bet it sounds amazing!

DaVa FC-A1 a field coil contender

The SPU version is the heaviest of the 3 and employs the most ebony and brass. As far as its voice, the SPU has the greatest range, dynamics, soundstage and tonal balance.

DaVa FC-A1 a field coil contender

My initial impressions are nothing but, positive. Warm, liquid, with great bass, soundstage and it's not even run in. The DAVA is also, the left brain equivalent to my right brain Ortofon MC Diamond. Both of these spectacular cartridges easily put you in your happy place. I need to mount my Tzar...

DaVa FC-A1 a field coil contender

Well, I have them both, the DAVA with Darius' tube power supply and a 73 911E MFI and both, are magical!

    Jonathan Tinn R.I.P.

Jonathan was one of those larger than life personalities and one of the people in our industry I always looked forward in seeing, talking, listening and most importantly, having a laugh together at shows. Like Colin and Mike have expressed, Jonathan surely will dearly be missed.
